Gosh, I dont' know, I suppose it depends on what you're looking for. In theory, I have all the power in my marriage. Then again, my wife/slave could crush my heart with two simple words, "Go Away". Once love (or at least some sort of strong and mutual feeling of caring) enters the picture, words like "power" become tenuous to the point of being a mirage overlaying the real truth. On the other hand, for short-term relationships (let's define that as ones expected to go less than 7 years), I can easily see how a woman could parlay her looks (or a man, his money), into some definite power... until it wore thin. Short-term and shallow incentives work for short-term and shallow relationships.
