In one of the Dr. Dolittle movies... the first one I think. There is a part where he is trying to get through to this dog and he's holding a ball and the dog is jumping up and down saying "Throw the ball!!!" Well, that came up in a conversation Scooter and I were having about sub/slaves. At the time twice was only half paying attention but when Scooter said something about telling twice to do something... she instantly turned and he had every ounce of her attention! She was asking what he needed, what she could do for him, what he wanted her to do... and the whole time she had that same intensity about her... I laughed and said to Scooter "Throw the ball!!!!" Well, emailing a friend earlier I told her that I was looking for that same intensity in MY sub/slave. So, I was wondering about that reaction from both sides of the kneel. Do you see that in your s-types? Do you s-types feel that way when you Master/Mistress makes a request of you? *Jewel*

OMG Jewel, that is too funny. Sir is usually good about being clear but he does have a lot on his mind that sidetracks him sometimes. He will say "erin, could you......" and then silence. So there I stand at the ready, knowing there is a need of some kind but not having a clue what that need is thinking to myself "just point me, give me a direction, tell me what to do". I'm sure I probably resemble that dog!

That was a cute analogy. I absolutely feel that way when he's about to make a request of me. I'm always eager and anxious to do something - anything - for him. I can't wait for the next task. I love doing things for him, particularly when I know it eases his load. And in between tasks, I will ask him - "Can I update your website? Can I put any documents together for you? Can I do anything at all???" So yeah - Throw the ball already!! [8D]

LOL, Yes this describes me very well in the presence of my Owner. My eyes light up, I get this look on my face, and I'm completely focused on the "ball" my Owner is holdiing up, wether it's getting her a soda, or giving her a massage. You can practically see my tail wagging LOL. When I'm in her presence, I am %190 in the moment. I am focused on her needs and desires. In the world, apart from BDSM, I am her protector, her companion, and yet still completely her property as well. She cares for me, showers me with affection "although some of it is pretty sadistic affection", and I want nothing more than to give her everything she needs.

~fast reply~ I can be that way but my current Dom doesn't like to be pestered too much with "Do you want? Can I get you ... ? Do you need ... ?" (He is very clear about being able to articulate his desires for me, and until he does, his desire for me is to hang loose.) So! ~deep breath~ I'm learning to sit back, wait, accept, and to only expect the ball when he actually throws it. (But omg I love that ball!!!!)

sometimes i am "throw the ball!!" and other times i am swat the 'throw the ball' guy/girl on the butt as they run by just for fun....i guess its the cat in me... but seriously, when i am in a service mode, i almost hate sitting still....to the point that i have embraced the passion of being human furniture - it is serving a purpose, but being still... chelle

Yeah, I've been known to get pretty intense. :) So much so that if I'm doing something and they're in the vicinity, its really hard for me to concentrate on what it is I'm supposed to be doing because I'm so focused on them.

In clip's case, he's absolutely a 'throw the ball' type. Anytime I wanted anything, he was on it almost faster than it took for Me to request it. Also, because of him being so service oriented, along with being a great masochist, he would focus on his tasks. Since he has ADHD, this was a particular benefit for him as well.

Wow, what a wonderful OP, some lovely insight there. Normally I don't see that in my pet, but, every once in a while, he will get into that mood. Usually when he does, it's after I've had a particularly shitty day at work or whatever, and he can tell when I get home. At which point, I think I literally COULD throw a ball and tell him to bring it back, and he would. Also, as LadyPact said, he's VERY intuitive, and often seems to know what I'm wishing before I even say it. A simple 'Hmmm..." and he'll instantly know "Master wishes a soda!", or "Master wishes a bit of a snack!", and be off like a shot. Now that you mention it though, I'm curious. I think I may need to get a ball, just to see if he WILL fetch it. Just as an experiment, mind you.

Yes I liked this analogy too! And oh yes, that's just the sort of intensity I want in a sub/slave! Have to be 100% honest here and say that violet isn't ALWAYS that intense with Master grin ... there's the odd time when she's pretty damned tired and she quietly thinks "just hold the damned ball, it will be easier!" LOL but they are few and far between. i'm more likely to get up and go and do it with a passing joke about "wearing the old girl out first" (since i am 15 years older than Master). But He just laughs and says Jay should find some younger legs to delegate to then! Yeah, like I'm not trying to do that! sigh Maam Jay aka violet[A]

ShiftedJewel, thank you so very much for those kind words. Things are going swimmingly well with my new Owner and I. She came over for a visit this evening, as I had alot of friends at the house socializing. She told me that when I opened the door, it was amazing to see how my entire face just lit up at the sight of her. I'm not so much the St Bernard, my Owner actually equates me to a Rottweiler. I'm very much a playful puppy type with her, unfailingly loyal, intelligent (most times), happy, yet am also fierce and severely protective of my pack. I'm sorry I haven't been around the boards lately, I was injured fairly badly not long ago, and have been trying to recover from it. I had a pretty good scare also, as when I got hurt, I was taken to the ER, and when I was being examined, the doctor saw all the marks from some particularly rough play we had done the week prior, including her name etched in my back, and they called the authorities. The next thing I knew I had social workers in my room, and I was in a very uncomfortable spot. I merely told them I was ok, it was completely consensual, and that the abuse I took was something I loved LOL. I hope you're doing well Jewel, I think of you and your family often. I wish I was near enough to you guys to give you big hugs when needed, and help with the labor on your house as well. Big bear hugs

I remember my Master phoning me one day and telling me that He needed me to do Him a favor. That has been one of my favorite moments in our relationship. I knew that I had the chance to do something that He considered special. My face lit up and I actually sat forward in my chair waiting to here what it was. Some tops are much more detailed in their commands than others. While I treasure the fact that I am given room to use my imagination and creativity there are other times when I love something specific. My "throw the ball" may come as "would you like me to kneel", "did you want me naked", or something similar. If it is met with a stock response like, "Did I tell you to do that?", it makes me stop asking. I love the analogy and I know exactly how it feels.
