WHY? is it? i am constantly being challenged? i don't do it to others,.....WHY is it done to ME? i don't ask people to justify THEIR beliefs.....
i wish people would STOP! doing to ME all the time.......

*puts on his WW-II sentry uniform....*

HALT! Who goes there? All right you... step forward slowly and be recognized.

What's the secret password? Who was "The Babe" and how many homers did he hit his last season? Come on you... speak up. If you don't know the secret password you must be some kinda Kraut spy! Turn around and put your hands on your head! NOW!...

*grins*

Sorry... I was just flashing back to the start of a really cool interogation scene. Being challenged doesn't have to be bad, you know! Use it as another opportunity to educate someone. Only you can surrender the power to another to annoy you.

Or as my friend Justin likes to put it.... "Never let the bastards know where you hide your goat."

YIK,
- Geoff

TOLD by whom?

\i was told by the folks that first trained me as a domestics only houseslave.....they were Pro's.

did this upset you that i said what i was told?

Why would it upset me? I was just looking for more information on the subject since it's been a few years since I've seen STella or any of that crowd. I was hoping you might have something substantive to offer.

For the love of Pete, don't you think your little persecution complex is getting kind of old?

I know this is an old thread, but I happened to be looking into a different word, and discovered by serendipity where "munch" comes from.  It's not a melding of "meeting" and "lunch."  It's almost certainly related to the (now rarely used) English verb "to munge/maunge," meaning "to eat greedily," which is itself derived from French "manger."  Anyway, "munch" goes back to the 15th century.  Even Chaucer used it (Troilus and Criseyde, where it's spelled "monche," for those of you scoring at home).  So although BDSM types have done a lot of good deeds in this world, inventing the word "munch" isn't on the list.

"Munch" is the contraction and melding of two words - "meeting" and "lunch" - It was originally used to describe a gathering of people over the mid-day meal. A "Meeting for Lunch". Literally. It has since become a term used in the BDSM community to describe almost any meeting where eating will be part of the function and play will not. Whether it's breakfast, lunch, or dinner, in a restaurant or meeting room, whether the meal is served or everyone chips in for "pot luck", if there are kinky folks and food in a fairly vanilla environment, it's a "munch".

STella's sense of humor would best be described as wry, mildly silly and a bit flippant, and announcing the event as a "BurgerMunch" was almost certainly a direct reference to getting together and munching burgers. Kirk's is arguably the best place in the Bay area to do that.

I have not seen or spoken to STella in many years, since I pretty much disappeared without a trace from that group in the 1990's due to career changes and personal burnout.  Would be interesting to get back in touch.  STella was very witty company.
