We all just need helicopters, that would fix everything. I want mine first! Make it a S-76 C++

Except for fuel, maintenance and insurance costs...

Yeah no shit! Roughly $282 per hour in direct operating costs for a Bell 206 - exclusive of crew, financing, indirect facility costs and insurance... Even a Robinson 22 which I cant even comfortably fly because its too small has an operating cost approching "bend over and grab your ankles"... LOL

Damn. Spoil my dreams for world domination why dont you, frikin meanie heads.

Actually if I could afford a nice 185 or 206 on a set of anfibs right now id be mighty happy. Expecially if it came with a Garming 530,430 and a MFD. Somthing tells me though I have a weee little bit of upward career advancement before I can afford that though.

If a person doesn't need a car and is self-sufficient I wouldn't be bothered by them not having one.  If they didn't have a car and assumed/expected me to cart them around it would bother me.

my ex, while being separated, thought since i didn't work at the time that he deserved to have the car though giving it to me. so during the middle of the night, he "stole" the car back.

that was 3yrs ago. despite being somewhat upset over how he did it, i'm happy that i don't own a car. no insurance or high gas price to pay (especially in Chicago - it's about $4.35 to 4.50 depending where you go).

public transportation here is reliable (at times) and some routes run 24/7 which is beneficial to me when i come home around 3 or 4a.  and as a added bonus - the bus stops are very close to my apartment. in one direction, i can arrive to Midway and in the other direction, the nearest hospital, ER, oldest's neuro clinic, museum, shopping, etc.

more importantly, the areas in which i frequent most venues where the bands perform have no parking and/or you need a permit. i don't have to get frustrated looking for a decent parking space as close as possible - the train and/or bus gets me close to where i have to go ...no problem.

yes it's rough standing on the bus when the winter winds are blowing and snow's hitting your face but i love that type of weather.

i *can* drive.  in fact, going to the DMV to get my texas licence today.  i dont LIKE to drive.  it makes me nervous, plus TheEngineer worries about me driving more than just to the store and back because of it.  not to mention the neurological problems i'm having.

so unless i *have* to drive, i dont.  well, that and we only have one vehicle.    he likes driving so its not such a big deal to us.
