I follow Theravada Buddhism...

Suffice to say 'God' exists in your heart, your religion is the way you live, and your thoughts, deeds, words and actions shape your destiny through life. The difference between Man and 'God' is that Man aspires towards love but thinks in terms of conflict.

what might be a load of crap for one is anothers belief.  i am christian and i prescribe to no "one" religion.  i try to live and love the best i can.  i've never understood the criticism of different religions and beliefs.  if something doesnt' work for you but does for someone else then live and let live...why does hatred and criticism have to even play a part in it?

it's a little like your kink might not be mine but it's okay.  why can't people be more accepting of what others might believe in as far as religion or the lack there of is concerned?

(((((hugs))))))  wanna go skipping through the meadow with me Christine? I wubs you!

Jesus Crispies.... you know, the one's that chase you down with pamplets telling you you'll burn in firey doom, and then grope up your daughter a minute later?

heh ... I like that one ...

I'd put myself down as an agnostic.  I don't mind other people's beliefs in the slightest, so long as they don't tell me how to live my life.  For this reason I've never been hugely keen on the majority of politicians either.

Wow ... politics and religion in the same thread ... that'll cause some sort of singularity.

I consider myself a Deist, so I define my beliefs through logic and reasoning.  I believe in a Creator, because I do not accept that the universe is an accident.

However, I don't automatically criticize others for having faith in something I don't share.  I'll be politically incorrect and say that Wiccans, neopagans, and various other New Age religious people annoy me more than Christians.  One of my number one pet peeves is pretentiousness.  If you want to hear pretentiousness at it's finest, listen to a Wiccan drone on and on about the "Burning times."  Of course they will get extremely offended when you point out the numerous errors in their history.

That's why I'm a Solitary practioner, Slaveboy LOL.  Try dealing with strict Coveners as a Solitary - it's even worse than what you mentioned about being a non pagan and listening to someone Drone.

I don't get the whole "group" mentality of religion, regardless of Which religion the "group" happens to profess.

I am a very nontraditional Christian.  My Owner is Church of Christ, formerly a conservative Jew.  Her other pet, Angel, is an extremely devout member of Church of Christ.

I believe in God and in he divinity of Jesus.  Perhaps nontraditionally, I also believe that there is no -eternal- Hell and that God will eventually lead all of us unto salvation.  I also don't think he hates people simply because they believe in a different interpretation of him.

Wow, I have read your post twice now and I still can't figure out who you are trying to insult. You cover such a large area with your anger that it is really hard to tell.

For example "'Some German gay guy in a Roman palace said priests can rape kids and women are inferior"

Are ya going after catholics, gays or germans here?

And this one "The higher the IQ, the less likely a person is to be religious, but a couple of my best pups have been religious, perhaps in keeping with serving a higher power ;-)"

So does that mean everyone who is religious has a lower IQ than you, because you don't believe in gods? Sounds kinda arrogant to me, but what ever.

I can understand enough of the post to realize, I probibly will skip past yours in the future, thanks for that.

Jeepers creepers,<---we'll chase you down with the intent of converting you, promising you can find heaven through groping.

Seriously, i am not particularly religious.  i don't care much who built the church, but God makes the sun shine.  As for who God is?  sometimes you go away but i am always here.

what they said.

i'm muslim - specifically sunni and i follow the hanafi school of law. i also have a huge affinity with sufism but haven't been initiated into any particular order. my pagan (mainly celtic reconstructionist)/buddhist (mainly tibetan...initiated into the drikung kagyu lineage but i have some training in theravadin meditation as well) past has kind of stuck on me, though. master is theravadin.
