[sm=welcome.gif] to the Forums, Leoben.

I am Pagan and polytheistic.  My father taught me religous and philosophical tolerance and respect for the beliefs of others.  I learned much from his example.

Yeah, basically. Birth is reentry from a non-corporeal plane of existence, life is fulfillment of Karmic Destiny (more or less; I lack the vocabulary to describe what I mean), and death is reentry to another non-corporeal plane of existence.

I'm a Reform Jew.  For a while I was a Jew living in a Mormon state (Utah), married to a Catholic while working at a place that was 33% Muslim.

I've attended Reform and Conservative Jewish services, Catholic masses, a Unitarian service, an African Methodist Episcopalian service, and a Native American healing ceremony.

I belong to me... it's a tough job on most days, and some days I'm a little bitter about the amount of work it takes to run a Universe, and how ungrateful I am about how much work went into shaping today... but I'm not rabid about anything except retaining sole responsibility for my existence... I'm perfectly willing to accept applications for anyone else who wants to belong to me, too.

I'm an athiest, although I find religion fascinating.  I have no issue with the beliefs of others as long as they don't try to make them public law or force them down my throat.

aggressiveblkdom -> RE: Religious beliefs of Collarme members? (7/22/2008 7:39:08 PM)

As several have said similar...I consider myself to be spiritual, not religious. In my opinion organized religion is quite possibly the BIGGEST division in humanity. That said, I believe that there are higher deities that we still have yet to understand or fully know. The best we can do is to live our lives in such a way that it brings as little negative impact on others and live life to the fullest.

I looked out the window, and the creeks aren't rising.  So I reckon it's not the end of the world.  No one agrees on everything 100% of the time Bipolarber.  That's what I love about life.  It's never boring; it suprises you all the time when you let it.

This is Darcy

the.dark. and I are living proof that not having the same spiritual beliefs is not a barrier to a deep and loving relationship. I myself am agnostic (except for the days when I know I am the supreme being in the universe, of course) and along with ghosts, UFOs, Bigfoot, the Loch Ness monster, and a listenable Celine Dion album, I would love to believe in all of these things but I'm the kind of person who looks for empirical proof.

Having said that, I know what is right, and what is wrong, and on the whole I live my life according to what could be termed 'Christian values', but without the worship of or subservience to a figure or being or entity that I can believe in.

If there is a god, then I hope he'll see that I'm not a bad person really (despite my passion for 80s hair metal bands) and let me in, but even then, the rock and roll lifestyle that the guy downstairs seems to promote is kinda tempting too.......

Guess I'll find out one day, but hopefully not for a good while yet. [;)]

I'm a rather "strong" atheist. I universally denounce mysticism.

LaTigresse -> RE: Religious beliefs of Collarme members? (7/24/2008 10:52:27 AM)

If I could say that I hate........I would say I hate almost every organized religioun I have learned much of anything about. I think they are innately evil and bring out the very worst in human kind.

Yet I am deeply spiritual. I just haven't found a label that works.

Why bother to label it at all? -- accept it and embrace it. I don't believe there are any wrong answers... and I believe that we stick way to many labels on things trying to trap them in a form that we can hold on to, instead of letting them mutate into the form they need to be for us to keep moving in whatever direction it is we're going.

pixidustpet -> RE: Religious beliefs of Collarme members? (7/25/2008 5:02:35 AM)

i'm a heathen, devoted to pestering Odhinn on a regular basis.  irreverence in veneration is definitely part of my creed.

i'm the girl who began calling our godhi (priest) "the mighty goat-boy".  during the sumbel (passing of the horn of mead, you make a toast, have a sip, pass it on) at least once they would skip me knowing my toast was going to be "here's to good friends, tonight is kinda special".  (its STILL tradition there, some 15 years later!)

i believe there is no one-size-fits-all as far as religion goes.  i believe that dolly parton had it right in steel magnolias when she said "god dont care what church you go to, just that you show up!"

i believe i'm the bane of my mama's existance, and her delight at the same time.  [:D]

I have one eye. I am somewhat spiritually aware, but as yet my magic is weak.
