I love coconut oil because it lasts so long, although it sounds like I may have to go track down some sesame oil. I'm in the same boat as Camille though... no oil down there, thanks.

neutrogena has a new after shower sesame oil that is light and smells great...at your local drug store in the lotion aisle...apply when still wet after the shower...air dry or blot then use more for the massage...

massage is so important ...  be sure she is hydrated well before and after as massage releases toxins that need to be flushed

If you are looking for sesame oil, I would suggest buying what has been obtained by using a cold press method, basically squeezing the sesame seeds, without them being cooked. This type is much better for you.

Thanks for all the help. It seems as though I'm either going to find some cheap sesame oil and an empty pump bottle, or I'm going to have to look for a massage supply store nearby.

I really appreciate all the input, and thanks again!

H.

Grab some olive oil at the grocery store. Not extra virgin though.

He doesn't like oil so much, so I typically buy massage lotion from a local massage therapy supply store.  Or I'll use Trader Joe's Natural lotion.  But the massage lotion is a little "slicker" and lasts longer before needing to apply more.

Mineral oil is anti-life. It coats the skin and the skin cannot breathe through it. Look on the label they put it in basically all generic brand lotions and stuff. Baby oil, the conventional stuff is pure mineral oil, which is pure poison. It is bascially gasoline. It breaks down your immune system. It is cheaper and easier to sell it than try and dispose of it.

I second the Neutrogena seasame oil available at most drug stores.  My skin is rather sensitive and it has not caused any problems.  You can add a small amount to a nice warm bath and light some candles for her so she can unwind before the massage.  Her skin will likely be dried out from the airplane recirculated air so plenty of cool water, juices, sports drinks, etc would be good too.

As far as scent, I greatly recommend lavender. Far from fake fruit, relaxing and calming, and generally enjoyable. I keep lavender lotion around the house at all times.

It has a stonger smell. great for flavor but something lighter would be less enocuous. Especially if you're wanting to add aromatherapy essential oils. But if you dont mind, go ahead. Also, its more expensive so I save extra virgin for food.

Although, extra virgin olive oil is great lube!

I haven't anticipated that sesame oil would make a good massage oil. I thought it might be too greasy feeling or not absorb too well.

Right now I use pure almond oil by itself, or I mix it with essential oils, vitamin E, or emu oil.

Yes, It is used for massage oil. I personally am not crazy about the smell. But oil is alot easier to do as a deep tissue Massage therapist.

When I was with my Lady I gave daily massages.  She loved me to use pure vitamin E oil.  The oil soaks into the skin and makes it soft and keeps iy soft.  Her feet were the envy of all the parties we went to.:)  It also made my hands very soft.

The same vitamin e oil that is in the gel capsules? I actually find it really sticky on my skin, when it isn't blended with anything. It's not very lubricating.

I like the smell and taste of sesame oil in small amounts, but I find the smell overpowering in large amounts.

Out of curiosity, I still want to try it out as a massage oil.

I would recommend buying the sesame oil that is blended for massage oil, not cooking oil. The cooking oil will have an even more intense smell.

When I made my own oils, the base was usually almond oil mixed with vitamin E and then whatever essentials I wanted. Gave the benefits of the E without the stickiness.
