Obviously, if I wanted to manipulate the conditions to arrive at a predetermined result, I could do it easily.  When I released the results to the press, the journalists would have no clue about the test conditions and probably wouldn't care.

Which, in the case of conflicting research, leaves us in the dark as to the actual effects, until they turn up in sufficient numbers as to overwhelm objections.

Nope, just read about the tests themselves.  I'm biased - once I read about manipulation/shortcuts, I instantly decide the opposite conclusion as the testers claim.

That's likely to be a good approach more often than mere chance...

The hardest thing about the subject is trying to sort results from the noise, and making sure you have valid statistics.  One of the studies only asked people who already had cancer what their cell phone usage was; you need to ask that of the cancer-free population too, otherwise you've cherry picked the sample.

On the lab rat front, some scientists wonder if the rats are predisposed to cancer.  I can't remember if it was their genetics or inbreeding worries.

All samples are cherry picked to some extent by various factors, and there are several statistical methods of controlling for various biases.

What caught my attention in this article was that an apparently reputable researcher is 'jumping the gun' so to speak...something  more often done by the media.

Announcing a conclusion from unpublished work popped up a reminder of where I'd come across something that before, and IIRC it was in medical trials where the actual drug was either so effective that trials were stopped so that all participants could have it, or so harmful that the test group was stopped.

Wonder what has him so eager?

Okay, what is NOT cancer causing?

I was living in Utah when the cold fusion hoohaw was going on.  For those who don't remember, two profs from the University of Utah claimed to have successfully made nuclear fusion occur at room temps.  This stunned scientists who had been working on containing the blazing hot fusion reactions for decades.

Turned out that the results were not reproducble and were in fact created by flaws in the experiment. But they got front page news for a month or two.

And that sort of thing isn't exactly an isolated incident.

You are a ground plane for a 5.8 Ghz transmitter. You got a little one you attach yourself to. They got a big one. They have to change the antennae from time to time. And I don't mean from something in the air.

I know electronics and HF and current destroy electrical connections, MADE OUT OF METAL. So if the action of high current high frequency can oxydize metal, what do you think it might do to you ?

Let the people do it. Fukit. Give them 43,000 miutes a month, and when they don't pay their bill for two months publish their obituary.

Welcome.
