I noticed when I log in I have this little side list of "admirers" (though I don't know why).

When I try and says "Thanks" to one of them I get back "this user has blocked you" message. Is that weird or what?

Why would someone "admire" you but block you from sending them a note?

what i hate is when you message someone with a pleasing, polite message of greeting or respond to something on their profile or journal, you're met with the mean old BLOCK button. what's up with that.

Seriously, and that state don't come to me often. You have admirers because someone put you on their favorites. Might like bubble baths, no reason or they love you or they were drunk. They do not want to talk to you, maybe you are beat-off material (I don't know your favorites) and it is easier than having to respond to your why did you?.......

That ain't all the cases but what is, simply is.

what would you think if you sent out a polite email like "Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening...ho was Your day" and was BLOCKed for your troubles?

that has happened to me too often here...where is it written that this lifestyle is synonomous with rudeness?

People are rude everywhere. There are many here, just wasting time and cyber playing.

They most likely want to admire you from afar. If you actually try to talk to them, they don't know how to react. After all, you are a Domme. Rather than have to communicate with you and make it more 'real", they just block you. That's my theory anyway.

Be well,
Julie

I used to check who on earth the folks on my admirers list were, and sometimes the reaction was ew, ew EW! Folks that just didn't appeal to me one tiny bit, were on the other side of the world, whatever.

Maybe they just like your picture! I am not offended to be wanker material, as long as I am not expected to watch it via webcam.

Don't forget Hanlon's Razor:
Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity

They probably clicked the wrong button the first time. Which one they were aiming for is the million dollar question :)

Edited to add: hey, some of us don't even have any admirers to complain about!

I have never blocked anyone, but I have placed someone on my favorites list for other than straight forward reasons. I sometimes play "hot or not?" with my friends and the list serves as a kind of bookmarking feature. There are also occasions when people make the list for reasons of "can you believe the shit in this profile?" - or in other words, we are ridiculing the person behind their back (unknown to them of course - I see no reason to be pointedly cruel to strangers). I am sure I am coming across like a complete asshole, but I expect my behavior is not so exceptional if the truth be told.

I do also list people when I admire them for some reason - so it's not all badness. Someone made my list today for reasons of beauty, courage, and intelligence. I plan to share out the URL to that profile as suits me.

If someone has listed me I am not above simply asking them why directly. But it is odd that you were also blocked. I couldn't say what to make of that. This being the internet you have to accept that nearly any reason is possible.

I agree with this post Chain, and you don't come close to coming off like an asshole, in my opinion.

Mike, post as you please, nothing you say will cause you to be construed as an asshole in my book.
