FR When i read the title i thought it was going to be about an article i once read regarding what it was like to be a slave. i thought it was a very good article which outlined important aspects of what slavery would be like, for anyone considering it. I "get it" and agree with the concept too. However, my experience would indicate that the appropriate reaction to any profile label is a big 'so what?' until you meet. Using the same standard that you have concerning the label without experience referenced; why should the experience reference be taken as fact? What if the 'slave positions' he/she have mastered aren't the ones you desire? What you have in profiles are people using other profiles as a guide. Maybe it was my general skepticism, or east coast attitude, but I didn't (and don't) trust any profile ad. Their value is as a tool to help determine if the person has intelligence, can put more than two words into a sentence, and has the ability to use a 'spell check' program. beth had no experience, no 'slave skills', no references to check. her profile was a simple disclosure of naiveté, private fantasies, and a request for a 'gentle Master' to hold her hand as she walked down a path that, more than anything else, scared her as much as excited her. I read in her profile a desire to be nothing more than 'herself'; with an amazing admission that she really had no idea what that was or would turn out to be. If she used 'slave' within that profile, it would have been irrelevant. Now she is a 'slave'; my slave, under my definition. As our sig line says; we've posted a lot of anecdotes about our lives, but to understand what 'slave', or for that matter 'Master' means and represents to us - you have to observe it and experience it first hand. The same holds for anyone, a profile is only words.
