Briena -> RE: Transgendered....Whats your opinion... (8/25/2008 11:46:27 AM)

In about two thirds of all cases, AIS is inherited from the mother. In the other third there is a spontaneous mutation in the egg. The mother of the foetus, who does not have AIS, but has the genetic error for AIS on one of her X chromosomes, is called a carrier.

I should tell that to my friend Pam... "Pam, its all your moms fault!"  HAHA!

That was really interesting to read.  Thanks for posting it.  :)

That sucks.  Its hard when your own parents dont even accept you for who and what you are.  I mean if your parents dont accept you, it kinda leaves you feeling like "Who will?".  Sorry :(  *I accept you :D*  *Wink Wink*

Briena, while you totally missed my point concerning hermaphrodites, what you said here illustrates trans on trans discrimination in a very good way.  If other trans folk won't accept you who will?  Which is why I have never been able to understand how it is so prevelant.

SavageFaerie -> RE: Transgendered....Whats your opinion... (8/25/2008 3:52:29 PM)

In general 'any' physical difference in a peson to me is not a consideration as to who the person is themselves. Having grown up openmined I just dont see people in boxes. Tho over the years I have found myself more drawn ,to the for lack of my mind finding anything better, to those who are the underdogs. Perhaps its the empath in me or just the way Im wired.  I just see people as unique individuals however they are.

So yes, I am accepting of someone that feels they dont have the right body and did or didnt do anything about it.

I was raised to not judge any group of people. I taught this to my kids by example, and have watched them grow up treating anyone that was in any way different as they would anyone else.

My motto let people live the way the want. Accceptance goes along way, even if not understanding.

People are drawn to the people that fit their likes, nothing wrong with that.  Its how one is wired I guess.

I could go to alot depends on how you were raised, location, preconcieved notions. But I guess Im far enough off topic and  the original  intent of the thread.

As far as the OP, is she looking for validation that she is passable, since she stated that other than passable not  'within her defination' should not be validated just as honestly. I honestly cant figure out even with her trying to valilate her OP is just for a specific group. I find her specifics still somewhat vague.

If she is just worried about how people are going to react to her at this event, my guess is it will probably be as mixed as this thread is, just in a smaller group.

The topic brings out alot of thoughts of varying degrees so I'll stop here, since there are so many veins leading off from original post that I find interesting.

Wikipedia is not the most reliable site.  I can go in and put whatever in wikipedia.  There is a wikipedia thing on a friend of mines chat ID!  So thats why I didnt use wikipedia.  My friend has both male and female genitalia.  She also had a fully functioning female reproductive system until the doctor messed her up.

And if you looked at what I posted I did not ignore it.  As I posted right here:

I certainly didn't use Wikipedia, I clearly linked to the Online Etymology Dictonary, which is a reliable resource showing the mythological orgins of the word.

And you ignored the proper use of 'intersexed' when you pontificated that another poster was full of it for saying that 'Hermaphrodite' came from mythology. (While you were busy slandering she-males).

Don't know why getting your facts straight isn't good enough for you, but save the intolerant spin for someone who cares.

Uhhhh, Im totally confused by your comment.  My comment had nothing to do with trans gendered people not accepting you it had to do with ones own parents not accepting you.  Leaving a child with the feeling of "If my parents dont accept me than who will." I have no idea how you got trans on trans discrimination from parental outcasting...

If you scroll down on the comment that I meantioned wikipedia you would see that it wasnt a response to you.  It was a response to aperversetwist, NOT YOU!  Second I never slandered any she-males as you would so call them, I wouldnt use that term.  I dont slander the GLBT community, its not my thing dude.  Sorry.

kaelibrianne -> RE: Transgendered....Whats your opinion... (11/4/2009 10:05:51 AM)

Well all I can say is that, "i am the walrus, you are the eggman. KooKoo Cachu." well no i suppose i can say more than that. UUUHHHH... trans people are PRETTY accepted given how many there are now. I sorta think the idea of "passable" being added is SORTA rude just saying. just because a transgirl looks like a bald biker in drag who cares. we are who we are and hopefully thats accepting people who can learn to share good vibes. hemp bracelet anyone?

Whew!  Who blew the dust off this ancient thread?  [;)]

Welcome to the forum Kael.  There are some folk here who think and feel girlie.  Depending on what you are looking for, there are both Doms and Dommes looking for girlie boys and trans-folk.  It is a smaller pond, but they are out there everywhere.  Look around, participate and enjoy!  Good luck in your search.  [:)]
