Or perhaps you were wrong and you STILL won't just admit it. Is the average of -0.2 and 1.2 less than or greater than 0.9?

Rather than continually try to derail this and every other thread that Firm posts in, kindly see my response in the original.

NBC/WSJ Poll: McCain halves Obama's lead

By Mark Murray
Deputy political director
NBC News
updated 9:39 p.m. ET, Wed., Aug. 20, 2008
WASHINGTON - With just days before the vice-presidential announcements, the political conventions and the final sprint to Election Day, Republican Sen. John McCain has cut Democrat Sen. Barack Obama’s national lead in half, according to the latest NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll.

“Whatever momentum that Obama took into the summer, he really appears to have lost it,” says Republican pollster Neil Newhouse, who conducted the survey with Democratic pollster Peter D. Hart. “It is not a dead heat, but it is close.”

... and ...

Battleground Poll: McCain +1
Posted by TOM BEVAN
August 20, 2008

A new Battleground Poll from the Tarrance Group (R) and Lake Research Partners (D) shows John McCain with a 1-point lead over Barack Obama among likely voters with leaners. The poll was conducted August 10-14 with a sample of 1,000 LVs and margin of error of +/- 3.1%:

McCain 47 (nc vs last poll in May)
Obama 46 (-3)
Undecided 7 (+2)

Obama's lead in the RCP National Avg continues to slide, down to just 1.2%.

I guess the Obama supporters can continue to not face reality, and talk about how polls can lie, but I still say that the evidence is pretty overwhelming about the trend now.

It's going to be a landslide for McCain, unless the Dems decide to actually nominate Hillary instead of the "Big O" at the convention.

It's too late, Firm.  The Barry Bunch would riot first, and stay home second.  Obama gets one more shot to turn it around with his acceptance speech next week.

Besides, Hillary would still motivate a lot of people who aren't thrilled with McC to come out and vote against her.

Hey, it might be too late to be effective ... but it sure would be entertaining ...

btw ... found another interesting breakdown of the polls.  This one is for those who threw the "electoral college delegates for Obama" at me ......

Barack Obama 264    John McCain 274

The main stream media is perplexed by the erosion of Obama's support in the polls.  I don't really
see why it is so shocking.  People voted earlier this year for the super star, hoping he would be the
one to effect positive change.  And than....and than we started to find out about the man we knew so
little about...and found out that there was little to find out!  There was nothing there.  A well delivered
speech...teleprompters at town meetings.. stuttering when caught with a surprise question....etc etc...

Obama's biggest enemy has been the liberal media.  Guys like Chris Matthews who had an orgasm when
he saw the stage show out west..with an opening rock band that happened to be a local favorite.  These
commentators never "vetted" Obama.  Gave him softball questions so much so that it became a hilarious
SNL skit during the primary against Hillory who, in my opinion, was the best guy in the race.

I just wonder, in fact, if the democrat party is not suffering from "buyers remorse" as many have said.
Maybe Hillary can snatch this rabbit out of the hat next week.  Hey..ya never know!

I think this quote from one of the participants on this thread says it all.

"When the character of a man is not clear to you, look at his friends." ~ Japanese Proverb

Yep..After Obama had pretty much sewed up his nomination, only than, did we start to find out who
this man associated with over the years.  For a man with no track record of performance, no legislative
history, nothing in writing other than his two books (he never wrote a shred I could find when head of the Harvard Law Review) the birds he flew with pretty much define the man.  The closer we get..the less we like..pretty
simple stuff.

Pollster John Zogby: "Is McCain making a move? The three-day average holds steady, but McCain outpolled Obama today, 48% to 47%. He is beginning to cut into Obama's lead among independents, is now leading among blue collar voters, has strengthened his lead among investors and among men, and is walloping Obama among NASCAR voters. Joe the Plumber may get his license after all. "Obama's lead among women declined, and it looks like it is occurring because McCain is solidifying the support of conservative women, which is something we saw last time McCain picked up in the polls. If McCain has a good day tomorrow, we will eliminate Obama's good day three days ago, and we could really see some tightening in this rolling average. But for now, hold on."

The most shocking thing about this thread is how long I've been attacking McCain. Democracy takes forever damn it.

I would almost have to agree with you.

If Hillary had gotten the nomination, I'd had to really wrestle with myself on who to vote for.
