Oh HELL No - I gave up on the concept of Relationships several years ago.  I've been single for nearly 4 years now, and I've learned that I much prefer it that way.  When I actually want flesh, I can borrow it and send it home when I'm done with it, rather than having it always about under foot and causing problems.  When I don't want them around, they're not.

What about Touch?  I have dogs and cats for companionship and cuddling if I want something furry around.  Intimacy?  I have that with my friends - who I am very selective about - and don't particularly feel a need for such on an emotional level a great deal of the time.  If I want it for a while, I know where to find it, and I don't have to put up with co-dependancy issues over emotions when I don't want it.  Spiritual Connection?  I get a Spiritual connection with nature - with my paintings - with working in a garden.  Not one of which requires a male in my life - and most of which is simply Hampered by having someone around all the time, invading my space, expecting things of me. I quit seeing "human connections" as sacred a long time ago.  I've learned the hard way through life - when you quit expecting "connection" or "ethics" or "intimacy" - you quit having to contend with being Disappointed, as well.  Life goes much more smoothly once that ceases to be a factor.

... it is really sad that so many woman would prefer a vibe over a man. what about touch...what about intimacy...what about sharing a spiritual connection.

No, what is sad is that so many women have to live without touch, intimacy and spiritual connection... even when they do have a male partner.

lol... And you wonder at mens' disgust with women?
Exactly!  I put up with that with someone else around - in a "relationship" - for plenty of years, and learned during those years that such things aren't as Necessary as many would like to believe due to romanticism.  Why put myself through the emotional horseshit of putting up with a male in my home, being a pain in the ass, sucking my finances down, expecting me to cater to his whims - for what - a few words every now and then telling me that I'm not measuring up and never will, or why can't I be more like so-n-so's ol' lady, or it doesn't matter what my Needs are as long as his Wants are met?  No thanks - I'll do without "intimacy" and "spiritual connection" these days.

edited to add : Thorn - I kill my own spiders ... and snakes... and wasps and hornets and bees... and beetles.. and moths... and anything else that needs "killing" of the insect nature.  Why would I keep one around for That when a shoe heel works just as well and takes up a lot less room?

And about the discretion? I'm an open book.  I posted things like that about myself long before I ever met Michael!  If I ever had any issue with it and communicated to him that discretion was an important issue to me things would be different.  My feelings are very important to him..

I'm glad to hear that---and it occurred to me that I might have been interrupting some kind of voyeur thing the two of you have.  Anyway, I post stuff about myself all the time, too---but heaven help the SO who runs off at the mouth....and I return that favour!

Lovely, everhope.  Well said.  Vibrators are fine and dandy, but there is no substitute for the touch of a man I am attuned to.  The closeness, the intimacy, the (dare i say it?) love, cannot be matched or even approached by Hitachi.

...and vibrators can't kill spiders!

thornhappy

If you have good aim I'm sure a vib could kill a spider.
Hell you could probably knock out cold a house intruder if you practised enough.

I bet I could swing the Hitachi by the cord & brain an intruder...

I do kill spiders, they just creep me out.  It was a joke about the only thing good about men was they kill spiders!  I even do a bit of auto & home maintenance on the side.

Shoot, I can kill my own spiders.

And on a more serious note, my entire sexual response is smashed by massive doses of antidepressants.  All that namby-pamby tongue play is virtually useless for me, unless I have the latest Vogue Knitting to entertain me, or at least the remote for the TV.  That vibrator is the difference between a good time and an orgasm for me, much of the time.   So, while there is nothing like actual interaction with another human being, interaction with a human AND a mechanical device is pretty darn good.

Never needed a vibrator tell two years ago, and that is because I lived in a small town where I never found any interest in the small town mentality. I am sure I would have never bought one other wise. I already know a Hitachi would be too much for me. woohhow!

I pick C "all of the above". Sometimes a toy does the trick.. but other times I'd much prefer to have human contact. Oh yes, the contact of His big hands on me... and of course I can't forget the cuddling, the toys don't cuddle back.

FR:

I find it ... amusing ... that all the women are talking about "the Hitachi".  And they all seem to know perfectly well what it is.

Talk about name recognition.

For the guys that aren't clued in ... it's one MAASSIVEEEE big son of a gun.  With a bulb head about the size of a large man's fist .... and it has two settings:

1. Jet  engine and
2. Earthquake.

It's powered (only) by 110 current.  No piss-ant, artsy-fartsy AA for this mother.

It's gotta weigh at least 5 lbs.  Wouldn't be surprised if it were 10.

It's not a "hide and quietly exercise my sexual appetite" kind of thing ... it's a statement of "I want SEX, damnit!".

Nuff said.

As a carpenter, I own several Hitachi tools (table saw, sliding compound mitre saw, etc).  If the Hitachi vibrator is as good as their other power tools...rock on ladies.  They make only the finest.  BTW, are they green?

Hahaha.. i didnt believe they made power tools so just had to go check it out.. they do!

But no.. a hitachi power wand is mostly white with a blueish colored area for the on/off switch. They also offer additional attachments.. made of what looks like blue silicone.

I missed the sequel:  Wives vs Hookers.

"So, baby, does your wife do this?"
"Yup.  Actually, she can hold her breath for a pretty long time."

"Umm, yeah...right.  What about these, your wifey have C-cups?"
"Double D's, all natural matter of fact.  I go shopping for bras with her and grope the mannequins."

"Listen, asshole - err, hey, baby, no wife is gonna please you like I can because..."
"Let me guess, you'll do things she won't.  So, ever been used as a urinal?"
"WHA...?"
"Ok, skip that, let's be a little more basic.  Ever been tied up and beaten with a flogger?"
"..."
"Well?"
"What's a flogger?"

Hmm.  I dunno.  Let's see:  hooker who probably did the entire naval fleet AND your dad at some previous point in her skank-o life while turning her body into a VD encyclopaedia/breeding ground - oh, and you pay to go where every man has boldly gone before.

Or.

Get a nice little perverse wife who likes the beatings, your sense of humour, is not objectionable to the crass and weird [but may need to take it with a grain of salt...and hey, who wouldn't].  Just don't be a Jim and give her access to the credit card.

Not much of a strain making that choice for me...

only if you can turn the vibrating off Bear:) Cant imagine what it would be like for a guy to have  constant DTs or Parkinsons tremors:(
Might be handy for the guy tho if strangers came up to him and rubbed against him for a quick fix.
