LaTigresse -> RE: Life is drama and drama is life? (8/5/2008 6:51:33 AM)

I would like to think I have found a lovely balance. I keep drama to a minimum in my life yet also feel like I am living it fully. I don't believe you have to have drama to embrace life. I think the choices you make, how you proceed, and how you deal with obstacles and upsets, are what determines the drama. Some people attract it like a magnet, quite simply because of poor coping skills, poor choices, and no thought or plan of how to achieve their goals. They don't think things through, instead just barreling in without a care and then stand there sobbing "Oh poor me!!!" with the situation blows up in their face. I've got a fantastic, full, wonderful, life. But I didn't get here by charging into my decisions without thinking ahead, and of how my decisions may impact others. I think there is a HUGE variance in how different individuals deal with life's glitches. Some do so with much overblown drama and chaotic bullshit. Others quietly pick themselves up, dust themselves off, think "well, I learned a valuable lesson there now didn't I?!?" and move forward. Others, not so much so.......hense, drama. I certainly do not equate having drama to living life fully and wonderfully. Nor do I believe that people with a low amount of life drama are living their life via television or computer. That to me, is a cop out, for drama laden people that haven't learned any better coping skills.
