i'm not sure what people with DID have to do with what some people may or may not do at their homes. people with DID won't be there for one thing, and for another, i don't think you can fairly make broad generalisations about the disorder even though you DO have personal experience with it. there are some people who are ashamed, some who are confused, there are some who are "appreciative" of the guardian identity, people relate to and cope with their disorders/diseases/whatevers in their own way.
you may not see the appeal that other people do, but that's your own opinion, and a condition in other people doesn't necessarily factor in. now if they were standing outside of a psych ward causing all sorts of calamity, or they were inviting DID people over and then going into "age play" mode with them in the room, there'd probably be cause for concern, but nobody's said anything that would make DID an issue at all.
some people pretend to be prostitutes -- hey what about all the young girls forced into prostitution around the world? some Doms force their subs to gain/lose weight -- hey what about all the girls suffereing from anorexia nervosa, or people with massively out of control desires to overeat? or glandular problems?! some people engage in rape play inspite of the countless numbers of people and children who are raped every day, or what about the simple IDEA of calling someone your "Master" and saying you're a "slave" when we had 400 years of institutionalised slavery in America and there are still nonconsensual slaves being bought and sold in diverse and sundry places across the globe? ALOT of people would probaby wonder what the "thrill" is in BDSM in general.
