I never felt the urge to rant before.  Please give me some leeway now.
I am fairly new to cm- little over a week.
I realize many (not all) domly types see my profile and perve the pic without reading all of my profile.  Hell, it's a singles' kink site I know.  I repond politely to as many as I can in as timely a manner as possible.  One, however was particularly spiteful & malicious.  Not because I'm seeking unmarried, local doms, but because I listed vegan as hard limit.  I like meat. Beef, pork, chicken, etc.  Domestic, gamey, store bought, fresh caught.  Meat is food.  It was created for us to eat, I eat it.  Now to the cowardly vegan who said: "Ah ok... well you goto a slaughter house and watch where your food comes from missy and then repeat those sentiments k?.[sic]"  and then had the temerity to block me, here is my answer:

My great gramps owned an old fashioned butcher shop in Brooklyn. We watched chickens' heads being chopped, and still love to eat them.  If we weren't meant to eat cows, then why did the gods make them so damned ugly? I also eat venison, gator & snake. I cook rabbit to celebrate the Vernal Equinox. If you catch it, clean & gut it, I'll cook it. I've found everything tastes good when sauteed on olive oil & garlic. [OK, gator is better with buffalo hot wing sauce]

If you are a twue vegan, then I suppose you will not allow your cock to be sucked, as those poor sperm will die a horrible death being slowly digested. And will you decline to eat pussy? [I'm on a roll now... stand back!]

I finished off my t-bone and cabernet a little while ago. Now I will give you a bit of space as you digest your gassy greens.

PJ

Thank you for allowing me my soapbox time.

I don't agree that animals are here specifically for us to eat. Though you're entitled to your opinion, just as I am mine. I don't know if the dom in question was merely responding to your limit or to something you messaged him. Perhaps he was offended more by the fact that you are making a judgement based on a food choice.

What is a profile for, but to express opinons abour our selves ... there's a sub on here who has as a hard limit - bird watching ... she does it as a test to see if people actually read it ... as many can't resist the question - what is it you don't like about birdwatching ...?

expressing what you like or don't is an individual thing ... if you take offense that I live for corsets and knife play is a hard limit ... does that mean i get a diatribe on the pros and cons of how my organs can be affected vs the benefits of knife play ... my organs won't be affected as i'm not into waist training, for the same reason i'm not into knife play, i like my body - the unblemished way it is - but if you want to do waist training and knife play go for it.

I personally quite like this rant.

As rants go, this is one of the best to have popped up over the last few months.

Well done there, ranter. At least they didnt have a go about your other hard limits. Imagane if a swinging Scientologist vegan Domly Dom who was deeply into listening to rap and hip hop IN A TENT got in touch! The horror! They would have sooooo much to tell you off for!

All life force is rather sacred.  To ignore or preach that eating plants is somehow more noble than eating animals never made sense to me.  In commenting on obscenity in another thread, I addressed that vegans also kill to eat.  I said:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I see the obscenity and violence in life every day.  I see it everyday, I see it at my breakfast table because I know eggs are unborn chickens and bacon is strips of pig.  I know that the ground up cereal is the seed pods… the un-hatched babies of plants.  The same with the ground up unborn children of wheat that is powdered and made into toast.  There on table next to all these mutated and processed unborn things is a bouquet of severed plant genitalia [flowers].  To some this perspective is obscene.
I once met some kids that didn’t know hamburgers were made from cows or that meat came from once living animals.  Now I’m not gonna’ start eating salad with my fingers like the passenger on the train in Hostile II but, to me it is obscene to not teach someone that they are a predator living off of the flesh of others.  It gives them a false view of the world and their true and possibly obscene role in it.
It is this society that lives under that false pretense, that delusion that meat comes from stores not animals, that flower bouquets aren’t the severed reproductive organs of plants, that seeds aren’t the unborn children of plants… it is these comfortable delusions that leave someone so sheltered that they could conceivable judge pictures of sexual acts as obscene compared to the reality of daily life.
I'm just second generation in this country..... yeah - old the old timers came over from Europe and brought their traditions with them... planting/growing vegetables and fruit.... raising and slaughtering animals for food. I learned how to hunt, fish, and find
edible foods in the wild. We picked and canned food every fall. They were survivalists before the term was coined.... that was life before all the processed crap and fast food took over American culture. The human body requires a balanced diet for all the minerals and vitamins needed to keep the engine and parts running smoothly.... i eat meat - proudly. We went to slaughter houses to buy FRESH MEAT.. at reasonable prices....... not the mega meat factories - local places... and God said it was GOOD>
Do I care if someone has a diferent diet? no - just don't prostletize without thinking you'll get slammed for your unsolicited advice/opinion.
Preach on, sista!
That also brings to mind the *other* reason why i have Veganism as a hard limit- they're never content to just eat their veggies, they always have to tell you about it.
I never thought to put veganism as a hard limit, but I could so not be with someone who didn't allow me to indulge in the meat I so love to eat.
My response to the vegans:  If you are so concerned about taking the life of an animal, do you wear mouthguards each night to prevent you from eating the many spiders that crawl into your mouth while you sleep?  And what the other poster said about eating seeds & spores that contain life as well.  Research has shown that plants respond to music & other external stimuli, so technically, doesn't that make their lives as sacred as that of animals?
About the blocking.  People do that all the time.  They want to hop on their little soapbox & jump off & hide.  They remind me of little ones who ring your doorbell, then run.  Yes, they are cowards.  I had one that when he saw I left the weight section blank on my profile write to me that I must be enormously obese.  Now, in my defense, I am overweight, but I don't think enormously.  I am just sensitive about it.  I tried to write back to the guy, but of course, as with your friend, he had blocked me or disappeared.  No biggie.  But in a way he did me a favor, I was able to rework my profile to include what size clothes I wear, without having to put a weight number on it.
In your case, he probably did you a favor.  You know you can count him out.
Good point, if someone is going to reject you for eating meat, you are probably better off without them.
Fact is, we kill to eat. Like trees ? Don't eat nuts. Those amber waves of grain mentioned in America the Beautiful ? No more grain, you are eating the babies.
Want to talk about a hard limit that makes just a bit less nonsense ? Eating incests. I mean really, if I had a partner and she sat there and ate a bowl of incests I wouldn't want her mouth on me until the next day. I might not have any fun that day but I don't think I would deny her the pleasure, because to me it is so gross, to do it someone must really like it. Even as dominant, it is not my job to deny another pleasure except as a part of a game.
Less gross would be barnacles errr, mussels. That would not evoke the 24 hour waiting period, but you won't catch me eating them.
Some of the things I won't eat are probably very nutritious. But if I throw up they're not.
I can see a vegan wanting a vegan partner, I really can. Otherwise there might be some problems, like not being able to eat together. But to block people over it is silly. Actually I would rather argue the point, and by that I mean argue civilly. Perhaps a better word would be litigate, but I think that means in court. But you get the idea.
I eat meat- I tried the veggi thing for about a week, it's to damn expensive, hard to find stuff when you go out to dinner... and I like hamburgers damnit.
On the other side of the equation, I'm also a freaking bleeding heart for animals- and can't stand to see them abused or neglected. Maybe its a little hypocritical, but it works for me.
...Term... how exactly do you eat incest?
i live near the old stockyards here in Chicago and a local meat warehouse where they actually butcher live pigs, goats, and chickens for wholesale to the public (they butcher slabs of beef at a reasonable prices better than the grocery store).  i have taken my girls to this place while shopping  ...one time, we just happened to be there when the pig delivery arrived.
one last point, every year during the Taste of Chicago, PETA and other vegan groups pass out leaflets warning people about the "dangers" of eating meat. they also did bus ad campaigns too.
Fact is, you and I, all of us, are part of system.  How we assimilate to that system is a personal choice.
You don't eat your dogs, your cats, hamsters and rats but would there be anything wrong with that if someone chose to do it?  If you do eat all those things, do you stop at Monkeys because they are 98% genetically similar to human beings, or do  you stop at human beings, and why would you stop at human beings?
Why do you choose to eat certain animals, and not others?  Why I eat only plants, is they have no capacity to sense pain...no brain...that might or might not be true, but from what we are capable of knowing, that is where I have to stand.
to the thread in general -
If God (however you define "Him", "Her" or "It") didn't mean for us to eat animals, He wouldn't have made them out of meat.
I fully support your right to eat whatever you want within the law. I expect the same from you.
I am not seeking support for who I am.  I don't support mindless slaugther...people need to be more responsible for there actions...meat eater or not.  Unless we become compassionate to other human beings, how can even expect others to show compassion to animals.
I choose to eat the things I do, because of taste and accessibility to already cleaned and butchered meat.  Oh, and because of laws on the books, somethings just ain't legal to eat.  While traveling, I have eaten just about everything, haven't tried human yet, not sure that I am interested in it.  Trust me though, if it were a life or death choice, I would be eating you.
I don't try to rationalize my diet by, oh don't eat that the animal is so cute, just as any carnivore doesn't care if it is cute, they only care about the availability and the risk to themselves.  Besides if I wasn't supposed to eat them, they wouldn't be so tasty.
I don't mind you choosing to eat what you wish, that is your right.  However, I do have a problem with the activists that try to prevent me from eating what I want to eat.  Peta is on the soft side to some of the nutjobs out there... ALF and ELF members should be hunted, stuffed and put on display.
Just my opinions,
Thadius
