ORIGINAL: FixedVentures Fact is, you and I, all of us, are part of system. How we assimilate to that system is a personal choice. You don't eat your dogs, your cats, hamsters and rats but would there be anything wrong with that if someone chose to do it? If you do eat all those things, do you stop at Monkeys because they are 98% genetically similar to human beings, or do you stop at human beings, and why would you stop at human beings? Why do you choose to eat certain animals, and not others? Why I eat only plants, is they have no capacity to sense pain...no brain...that might or might not be true, but from what we are capable of knowing, that is where I have to stand. I choose to eat the things I do, because of taste and accessibility to already cleaned and butchered meat. Oh, and because of laws on the books, somethings just ain't legal to eat. While traveling, I have eaten just about everything, haven't tried human yet, not sure that I am interested in it. Trust me though, if it were a life or death choice, I would be eating you. I don't try to rationalize my diet by, oh don't eat that the animal is so cute, just as any carnivore doesn't care if it is cute, they only care about the availability and the risk to themselves. Besides if I wasn't supposed to eat them, they wouldn't be so tasty. I don't mind you choosing to eat what you wish, that is your right. However, I do have a problem with the activists that try to prevent me from eating what I want to eat. Peta is on the soft side to some of the nutjobs out there... ALF and ELF members should be hunted, stuffed and put on display. Just my opinions, Thadius
