ORIGINAL: FelinePersuasion You're have not been listening perverse, lol I already said why I wanted to dye stuff. Creativity and I did it myself, I didn't go out and buy some randomly made color, I put the thought into it the time and I made it myself. The gratification of knowing yours is special and not randomly produced "stuff" I dig, but I guess if I'm going to take the time to dye something myself I'd rather spin it too. Get some authentic wool fiber and spin it, then dye it. Or dye it then spin it. It's great for embroidery and makes it even more personalized. Or cotton, but I find cotton is MUCh harder to find in fiber form. I am all about doing stuff myself, but I guess I figure that I'd rather use modern technology when it makes it easeir. That wya, I can spend more time on the construction of whatever I'm making. \ quote:
And actyally there's quite a few tips on dying yarn and they made clothes out of it and their yarn has never faded or rubbed off. that might happen with inferior dyeing methods but none of the sites about knitting with coolaid dyed yarn said it came out. Of course that was yarn and not floss lol. I'ven ever seen it come out of natural fibers, but off stuff like nylon and rayon it tends to rub off. Even linen, sometimes. Though linen mostly just fades. Then again, most dyes fade on linen.
