Yeah, I did. I was maybe 36 when I "discovered" BDSM. I had had the desire for bondage and pain for many years before that, and experimented with them with my ex, but never realized that it was something that other people did. And my ex only did those things under pressure from me, which made it feel "icky".

It wasn't until I got my first computer 9 years ago that I found  out that other people also enjoy these things.

YUP! me too to almost everything folks have said so far!  I am 46.  and yeah, tended to be submissive sexually w/o having a name for it.  I only just started down this path a few months ago and have found the open, honest communication about sex to be incredibly liberating.  I AM a feminist but to me that means that i have choices in my personal life -- i CHOOSE to submit because that it what i like.  i serve because it is joyous to make another person happy.  Out in the world, of course, i am a very aggressive career-oriented person.

The other really cool thing that i am learning is that this life is pushing me to be a better person.  Really!  Anyway, we are all living WAY longer than generations before us, so, as far as i am concerned, i still have a long time to learn and grow and i am looking forward to the journey.  AND i have to say, that the folks i have met thus far in CM are a really great bunch of people to be with for the voyage!

although i think i have been basically submissive my whole life...i did not have a name or an outlet for it til i was 47.  it was at that time that i first discovered D/s.  and i have never been happier.  it was through that exploration that i finally found the courage to leave a marriage i had been unhappy in for years and find the man i now call Master.

Hello everyone. i just wanted to thank everyone for their post. It is good to know that we can learn about our submissive nature at any age.
