M'dear, if you exude confidence your clients will fall under your spell. Everyone has mild imperfections - but I know we are each our own worst critic.

I say try to learn to accept yourself as you are. Just hold your head up and see yourself as the lovely goddess you ARE.

If it troubles you to show your back I have seen very lovely and light sheer mesh or fishnet that can be layered with a corset without being too warm and keeping a very sexy look to an outfit.

Best of luck!

- Lady J

As a follow-up, an awful lot of the sub menfolk I've talked to, got their first fantasies based on this woman:

Nudity is not all it's cracked up to be.  Being covered up can be alluring and has the side benefit of providing a small amount of legal protection.  (Though the legal issues need to be researched).

Not just sub menfolk - menfolk generally. Oh, and Emma Peel was sub to John Steed. Lots of very broad hints throughout the series.

Blindfold him ;)

Personally I think if you're going to be charging me $300 an hour for what I could otherwise get for free, the least you could do is put some cream on your back.

Maybe so, but I have on good authority that Emma Peel...and her boots... inspired at least one young man to grow up to be a sub. [;)]

I know I'm young (21), so I don't plan on charging an arm and a leg for my services.

I'm sorry, but I would see youth as an asset in this scenario. These men are paying for their fantasy...and while some will be discerning subs who will appreciate if you've had years of flogging experience and are an expert with a single-tail, most will be looking for a woman who looks hot and who will do what they tell her to. I think that you could certainly charge more based solely on looks...while experience is important, honey-you've got it. Flaunt it. And charge extra for it.

You can get sessions with a beautiful domina for free, huh? Then what are you doing on CM? Perhaps you've only been here a month and haven't yet realized what rarities dominant women appears to be. Many, many men on this site cannot get what she's offering for free.

I think that if the acne makes you that anxious, then you should take care of it. It's hard to be a pro-domme if you're super insecure (I say this based on the fact that it's hard to be anything if you're super insecure). I personally don't think that any paying sub is going to care one way or another.

I'm sure they did, I don't doubt it for a second.

The birth control pill can really take care of acne in many women.
But you're hot, and you're in control, so don't worry about it.

If you'll look in my profile you'll realize it says I'm not looking for a domme, and am on CollarMe to meet other people in the lifestyle. You'll also see that I was just recently collared by a Domme but ended the relationship because I moved to another state.

But yes, I have Domme friends who will and have dominated me without me paying for it. Maybe I'm lucky in this respect, and I realize dommes are a rarity, but the only thing worse than that is that dommes who actually LIKE being dommes and CARE about their subs are even rarer. Most just want to exploit submission for profit. And I'm sorry, but as long as you're charging money, or demanding "tribute," that's what I'm going to think you're doing.

I have respect for all dominant women, but really, why would I think you're a genuine dominant if you're charging me money? Sounds to me like you want to be rich, not to dominate men.

Hey, i wonder if this arguement would work with my mechanic...

If you REALLY loved working on cars you wouldn't charge me for it...

hmmmmm

While we're at it let's apply the same argument to apples and oranges. Working on cars is a service, and involves one person doing something for another person. D/s is a mutually fulfilling relationship between two people. It requires as much effort from the submissive as from the Dominant. One just happens to be rarer, so some greedy "Dominants" want to exploit it.

Why don't male doms charge for their dominance?

Advice from a pro:

1 - Yes, you can wear clothing to camouflage your skin flaws, but you could also visit a dermatologist and get it taken care of.  Diet changes may also help.  When I eat dairy products, my face breaks out.  You may have an allergy to any number of things.  Infrequent laundering of sheets can make some people break out on their backs.

2 - Don't charge less because of your age:  charge according to what your market will bear, your skill level and the quality of your space and equipment.  $200 for one hour is standard across the country.

3 - Consult an attorney who specializes in criminal law to find out what the state and city laws are for where you live.  There are a few states where bondage and S&M activities are considered prostitution, but not that many.  You may consider visiting an escort board, getting to know some escorts, and asking them for a referral for a lawyer.  The lawyer will be familiar with not only the letter of the law, but also how your local law enforcement handles sex workers who aren't exchanging sex for money.

4 - Another advantage of getting to know escorts (or other pro dommes) in your area is that there's a network set up to protect each other from stalkers, no-show artists and other bad clients.  When you're fresh meat, the game players come out of the woodwork.  Protect yourself as best you can with networking, but be prepared to have 90% of your time wasted during your first year as an indie.  If there are already pro dommes in your area, there's a chance they will not share info on bad clients with you because if you get tired of dealing with buttmunches, there's a good chance you'll drop out and no longer be competition.  Depends on the climate where you live.

5 - Consult an accountant about how to set up the right kind of corporation and how to pay taxes on your small business.  If you go off the grid and don't have income on paper, it's going to be difficult for you to establish or maintain credit, apply for loans and any number of things.  If you end up in court and have no income on paper and nothing showing that you exist in the system, that will not work well in your favor.

6 - Do more research.  Lifestyle boards like this one are good places to set yourself up for people to insult you on the basis of what you do for a living.  Not everyone is prejudiced, but you can see on this one thread that it isn't entirely friendly, either.   Go to www.Maxfisch.com if you'd like to learn about the industry from people who are active in it.

7 - No seven.  Just ... best of luck!

Dude.  You are clueless.  At best.  What does it matter if you've scened a thousand times if you haven't learned anything?  Besides, it's pretty arrogant to assume a pro would be willing to take you on as a client.  The turndown rate is over 90%.  Ya might want to get out more, and actually get to know pros and former pros, instead of broadcasting your ignorance on an international message board.  It makes you look like a lame-oh.

HornyToadsMI -> RE: An odd question about pro-domming... (8/22/2008 7:38:01 PM)

Hon, if  you are half a hot as your pic suggests.....then I dont think that the lucky guy on the other end of the whip is going to care.  If you exude sexy confidence.....then you will be fine.  Allow your back to air out more, if you can.  The more the skin is covered and sweats, the more breakouts occur.  I agree with the sensitive Scandinavian skin....sexy, but a pain to keep clear!

And if some dumb subbie  says anything, make him apply Oxy Zit Creme with his tongue.  A little burning might remind him to mind his manners.
