I have one I have one I have used in the past
when someone has been rude enough to ask about
the "exact nature" of a relationship I had.
"None of your business"
Actually, one time when one woman kept coming around
to why the woman I was with and I were not married. And
kept circling back to it different ways, I eventually turned to
her husband and asked him; "How do you tell you wife politely
that something is none of her damn business so she will hear it?"
That she heard.
My philosophy is simple. Until you are invited into it, the exact
nature of a relationship I am in is none of your business. And I
see no reason why anyone would think it is their business.
I don't inquire into other people's relationships in the real world
and I require the same curtsey from them. I have to be pushed
to get there, but I refuse to let other people take advantage of the
fact that I have decent manners, so after a point I don't.
Treasure, even though I had the pleasure of meeting you, I am certain
you could smile ever so sweetly and deliver the same message. Much
more politely than I could.
