I also feel the biggest mistake ever made in history is womens lib.    *gonna hear about that one*  LOL   nejisty

Yeah, who wants choice in how to live their lives? You're right, it was a far superior situation for us women when we had a couple of models to live by, and no decisions of our own to make concerning our own lives [;)] .

Anyway, everybody knows that we just vote like our husbands, so why should we bother in the elections [8|] ?

And as for work... well, we work because our men no longer can support us, but it's not because we work out of necessity that we should reap any of the rewards from being independent, should we?

I'm not going to go into the philosophy of the liberation movement, because everyone knows we love being imprisonned in a social sconce of fake morality and sexual repression [sm=biggrin.gif].

This is a subject I have been thinking a lot about recently.  I see tv commercials and programs that seem to have dumbed down Men.  Now I know that basically America has been dumbed down.  But the commercials seem to make potshots at Mens intelligence and usefulness.   I also feel the biggest mistake ever made in history is womens lib.    *gonna hear about that one*  LOL   nejisty

I agree with some of what you said. I was watching a commercial for papertowels that pretty much said if a man cleaned something you will have to do it over. I thought that was incredibly wrong and rude. So yes, alot of commercials do dumb men down. But they have also played to womens fears also.

As far as womens liberation, you're dead wrong. there are many women who are great in charge and make great Mistresses. It is their makeup to be Dominant and have a man serve them. Nothing wrong with the male who wants to serve. It should be people liberation to live their truth without apology to anyone.

An old man who was born and raised here in Hawaii was walking along the beach one day and found an old dirty glass bottle.  When he tried to clean the bottle, a genie popped out and told him he could have one wish.  The old man thought for awhile, then told the genie that he had never been off the island, he was afraid of flying, and got seasick in the mildest of ocean swells.  His wish was for the genie to build him a bridge to America, so he could visit his grandchildren.  The genie replied that that was too much.  Just think of all the concrete to be poured to the oceans depths, the gas stations and restaurants to be built along the way, there were just too many technical difficulties.  The old man must make a different wish.  The old man pondered awhile again, then told the genie he had been married and divorced 5 times.  All of his wives had complained that he just didn't understand them.  His wish for the genie was to understand women.  The genie sighed, and asked if he wanted two lanes or four.

heheheh nah you are entitled to your opinion nejisty, in the same respect, I find that the commercials showing women practically orgasming over the new bathroom cleaner or swiffer to be pathetic. Different strokes for different folks:)

The only time you'll see me doing that is if there is a beautiful new boy diligently scrubbing my bathroom floor -holding- the bathroom cleaner and swiffer!

I agree, nejisty -- Women's' Lib was a HUGE mistake... why should I settle for mere equality when I can have absolute command and adoration? *wicked grin*

Big feminist birthday cake to you :-) .

Aynne -> RE: Understanding women???? (8/9/2008 7:00:17 AM)

Awww thank you k[:)].  Dinner was fantastic.  French cooking at it's finest...yummy.

Women's lib? Do people still call the feminist movement that?  [8|]

nejisty -> RE: Understanding women???? (8/9/2008 7:10:13 AM)

To me that was close to what was.    But to clarify, womens lib...feminist movement...did have it's place and time.  But like the unions it has outlived its usefulness.  This country tends to go to extremes on issues.  It cannot settle for a happy medium.    nejisty..."guess the lib comment aged me "

I'd wish him luck.

To a degree, people are just people; women want much the same thing as men-- love, happiness, and fulfilment. Beyond that, he needs to look at each woman as an individual. Find one that's open, ask the right questions, find out what makes her tick.

And keep his fingers crossed.

Closest to the best advice... give the man a cigar!  [:D]

The best advice?

Don't.

bipolarber -> RE: Understanding women???? (8/9/2008 7:20:30 AM)

(With tounge planted firmly in cheek)

1) Women want sex just as much as men do. But they like it to mean something.
2) Sex is a riskier proposition for a woman. They take the chance of pregancy, while guys only have to deal with their "escape plan."
3) Women like to feel like they are safe and secure. It's a fetish with them.
4) They actually hate to nag... but we men make it impossible sometimes.
5) Leave the toilet seat down when finished.

The only other piece of advice is to watch Jack Nicholson in "As Good As It Gets" where, when a woman asks how he writes women so well, and he answers that he thinks of a man, then takes away reason and accountability.

Yes, with the number of single mothers and absent fathers in the world, what would a woman know about accountability?

"Woman: the peg on which the wit hangs his jest, the preacher his text, the cynic his grouch, and the sinner his justification."
- Helen Rowland

No, it just suggests an inability to put yourself in someone else's shoes or to imagine that their rights and experience of life are as important to them, as yours is, to you.

Try making the same sorts of remarks about racial equality - how it's not necessary, how you liked it the old way, how it's been taken too far, how there's not really any racial discrimination anymore.  People are so completely indoctrinated, in their daily lives, to gender discrimination, that they don't know an insult to females, when they hear it.

So I was writing a dominant that I know. He said that he had been thinking of getting a mentor because he feels he doesnt understand women.

What advice would you give him on  how to understand women?

Women are beyond understanding by males, they speak a different language and have different motivations.

The best a man can do is seduce a woman, have his wicked way and then behave in a way that makes her dump him. The man should then pretend to be hurt and astonished that the woman no longer wants him. He can then merrily go on his way and find another woman. Staying too long with one woman will only frustrate a male because he will become increasingly baffled by her irrational behaviour.

Men should always remember, a woman doesn't want you for who you are but who she can turn you in to.

Naira -> RE: Understanding women???? (8/9/2008 9:19:30 AM)

Well, it's a difficult thing to understand a woman. We are, by definition, going to always be one step beyond man's understanding. It's more fun that way. But, I'd suggest reading a book called "He Said, She Said" by Dr. Deborah Tannen.

It explores the differences between the way men express themselves and the way women express themselves in speech. It won't teach you exactly what a woman is thinking at every minute of the day...but it will explain how women use speech to get to the same goal as men, but in a very different way.

Give up while he is still in reasonably good physical and mental health.

Some hopefully are adventurers and dont want to give up. Plus, there is something about the scent of a woman.

See, I'm a woman so I know what LaT's up to. Shes banking on the fact that you dudes will give up and she will have all the lady's to herself. She's selfish that way![:D]

Actually no, most of them I don't want. Just a select few. Hell, I don't understand women and I am one.

I actually find men to be exceedingly easy to understand and think that is part of my lack of interest in them. It's the deliciously complex woman that captivates me. I honestly like some mistique and challenge in a partner. It frustrates and intrigues. I just cannot get enough.

Is it anything like the Mars/Venus books? The occasional good point, mired in over-generalizations?

nejisty -> RE: Understanding women???? (8/9/2008 9:54:37 AM)

The way I see it...issues can be dealt with quietly, it is when they are made a big deal of you get chaos.  We used to let kids fight it out between themselves...now they no longer have the option to slug it out and shake hands afterwards with a better understanding between them and of themselves.  Now it is call the cops because they can't be allowed to release their emotions in a healthy physcial way.  Yes I do understand there are those that is was not healthy.  Something that has happened throughout history and I don't see it as ever changing.   I see a softening of our minds and bodies.  We are no longer expected to be tough, strong, responsible and resilient.   We have 1-800-WAAAA to deal with everything that makes waves in our life.     Just my opinion.    nejisty

I agree, wholeheartedly with LaT's point of view on this. However, of course, it depends on what one is looking for in a relationship. If one seeks passion, stimulation, interesting dialogues, challenge and mystery, "there is nothing like a dame". If, however, one seeks to "understand" in order to have an easy go, then I suggest another gender or species. There is, of course, the option of getting a mail-order bride from a " developing" country, keep her in the dark and feed her bullshit, but that is bliss of another kind, eh ?
