Status: offline 		OK all you S types out there...  I'd like to draw on your collective wisdom (and maybe humor).  I'm putting together a series of "reward cards" for my slave.  It'll be one of those "draw a card from the hat" type things when she particularly pleases me somehow.  I'm putting together a bunch of cards and I'd like any ideas for more.  To give you an idea where I'm at already, here's a few I've done...

Slave says "no" (decline one command)
You call the shots (the evening is yours)
You are forgiven (no punishment)
 
So, let's hear it S-types...  What kinds of things would you like to have in your hip pocket?

That's what these initial posts reminded me of.  For some reason I'd gotten too myopic on the whole M/s dynamic and forgotten about just stuff in general that she would like (favorite foods, trip to the local woodworking store - not dayspa *laughs*, etc.).  She's pretty quirky though, for her it'd be new chisels instead of an emerald pendant.  However, restaurants are a favorite of hers, so clearly we're going to need at least one or two dinner-out type cards in the hat.  She likes art (in all of it's various incarnations)... so a trip down to San Fran to visit the art galleries would be a great one... probably the leather stores too while we're there *laughs*.  She likes woodworking so trips to get supplies and also time to actually do the woodworking are both great rewards.  Restaurants and fine food... I'll probably get a simple card such as "Dinner out", then maybe something more elaborate such as "Get whisked away to a magical fantasy evening".   Other than that, what she really likes is ... well... being with me and serving me ... but that's probalby not much of a surprise to all the submissives on this board *laughs*.

It's great though to hear about other's ideas anyway.  I'm wondering what things might come up that we don't know she likes but maybe she would would (the dayspa is a great example of that... not currently on her list, but who knows?).

I'm not really connecting with your choices - perhaps it is because our house is run differantly than yours in that Sir expects me say "no" to certain things and to actually give my opinion when he asks. Frankly, in a 'command' context, I saying 'no' doesn't really make sense to me - while I might negotiate, I wouldn't feel comfortable flat out saying no, even if I had permission. It sorta doesn't compute for me ~shrug~

Again, calling all the shots - no appeal at all.
You are forgiven - Again, not making a lot of sense to me. We don't hold grudges and this would not seem like a reward.

Rewards that would appeal to me:
Scene of my choice
A Shopping Trip


Those are what I can think of off the top of my head that would appeal to me.

Status: offline 		I think PL is onto something.  The "You are Forgiven" stuff hits me more like getting the Dom off the hook than the sub.  The Dom doesn't have to do the unpleasant punish thing this time around.

Yeah, I had some trouble with these rewards.  They sound to me like you are rewarding her by lifting the D/s dynamic for a bit, or at least parts of it, as if it were an imposed burden.  I would find this troubling.

Status: offline 		Yes I must agree- how is her having the authority a "reward"?  Does she often want to say no and you punish her by not allowing it? 

Perhaps it's just a matter of wording and you mean to say "You get to have the remote for an evening" and "You get to pick dinner one night"?  If she often submits to those things and perhaps would find a little more direct immediate pleasure in being able to choose on occasion then that makes sense.

But rewarding someone who chooses a relationship in which she cannot say no by telling her she can say no does seem a bit paradoxical.

While I wouldn't like to be in charge for the evening I would a card for "You get to choose the scene" or "I'll buy you a boxed set of whatever show and season you want". Also, foot rubs, spa trips and maybe a day where I'm not in charge but not under any orders except to work on my art.

It's still a running joke that my turns would always begin with "First, tell me what you want!" So yeah, the get-out-of-jail-free type cards wouldn't have any appeal for me. If they work for yours, by all means, put them in!
My favorite treat is a movie and popcorn, either at the theater or curled up on the couch. I'd want that one in there.
How about "one morning to sleep in"? Maybe with breakfast in bed?
Ooooo... and one evening of uninterrupted reading...
Would she prefer to change it so she could pick which card she wanted? or is the random-draw part of the fun? I wouldn't care for the randomness, but that may just be me?

Some things that I would like:

Choose my pleasure:  asking him for a particular sexual activity that I love.  For example, I love to be fucked hard and deep from behind but that isn't his fav--so being able to ask for this and having that request granted would be yummy!!

Choose my pain:  again, I'd love to be able to ask him for a particular scene that trips my trigger but maybe isn't tops on his list.

Choose a new toy:  Oooh, I love it when he and I shop for toys together, especially if I get to pick!!!! 

Choose my reward:  Kind of like the blank tile in a Scrabble game; I get to pick something that meets my particular need at the time.

Choose my tickets:  maybe there's a concert, a play, a movie, a conference or a festival that I want to attend.
