And what is wrong with lust. It is all in the mindset on how you want your relationship to work. One of the facts of life is that you never know how a relationship will turn out.

So, very, very true.

I'm probably an odd one but I spent the better part of 20 years being an avid commitment-phobe.  I had during that time several semi-exclusive relationships of deep affection and one vanilla "boyfriend" who I broke up with as soon as he purchased a diamond ring....  I didn't want a collar and a collar wasn't necessary for me to 'submit' and have a very fine time indeed.

I now wear the collar I begged for, because it was the right time for me and for my Master.  This is the first time in 20 years that I have lived with anyone, shared a bed nightly with anyone, been totally committed to anyone.  No frenzy here, just a deep feeling of having arrived home at last.

Prinsexx,

Thanks! Hehee. I'm exceptionally proud to belong to Master and I love our story, too. *beams*

(please forgive the momentary hijack of gratitude)

What a lovely concept. :)  If only all the hijacks were like that.

Eyesopened-- count me in as odd!  I so relate to what you've said.

There have been some threads recently that makes me wonder, "How long can some people can go without a "partner in this lifestyle" (ewww! sorry for lack of a better term)?" I am not professing that any one way is right or wrong. I am not even saying that "revolving relationship" is unique to any specific group of people. It could be just as likely someone being on the other extreme of remaining stagnant and alone too long. Though it has been stated on here a few times that no one can submit/dominate without someone or something to summit/dominate to/with.....so with this in mind. Since discovering this thing we do, what was the longest time you have went alone with no intimate contact between relationships? Has anybody met within two weeks of actually ending a relationship, and it actually worked out?

Hell, I knew Faith when I was still with Treasure and when that Treasure turned out to be anything but that Faith convinced me to start training him, I'm sure that was within a few weeks.

I had Faith for about 2 years, three months training then "owned" him for 18 months. We parted as friends and he made a good career move.

Heck, I found Fox when I was with Faith and Anna. Anna did her training, we decided she was more a service top than anything else, and she moved on to be kinky in that way with her great husband years later. Now Fox and I are about to makr 9 years together.

Maybe some of us are just lucky this way but I don't think since I was 15 that I've been without a partner -- vanilla or kinky -- for more than a month and normally I had multiple partners at any given time.

discovering this thing we do happened in January of 2003, 45 days before meeting Master in the flesh/establishing intimate contact between us.

it is the only M/s, or specifically D/s relationship with intimate contact that this slave has ever been in...and His is the only collar she has worn.

Less than 24 hours passed between my old owner and ex-fiancee leaving me and Valyraen and I getting together. My ex and I had been together nearly a year, Val and I have been together for roughly 2 and half years, leaving together for about 1 and a half - I think. We're engaged and are making wedding plans.

It was definately a long shot, getting together so quickly. But it felt right to us and he knew from the start I might be "rebounding". I probably wouldn't have bet on us but we'd known each other for years and we wanted to give it a shot. It was worth it. [:)]

What a wonderful story!  Congratulations!

beth, that's beautiful, particularly when one bears in mind how content you always sounds in your posts.

this slave rarely has spent time alone between intimate contacts, whether they be simply encounters or relationships of one form or another.  The longest this slave has been without D/s in her life since discovering it was 10 years, it was a hard decade and is not a sacrifice that this slave is willing to make for a relationship again at this point in her life.

I am afraid I do not leap often in life..I tend to test the waters cautiously..this is a part of me that I am not so wild about and wish that at times I could overcome it, but it is still simply me...I have reflected that this may have cost me in one way or another..but...what you may not have had you cannot miss...so to the question..How long can I go without a collar?...as long as it takes...Tempting..the turtle..:0)...

corsetgirl -> RE: Lifestyle Frenzy: How long can you go without a collar? (8/12/2008 8:48:08 PM)

I have never been collared so I guess I cannot miss something that I never had in the first place.  I have yet to find that someone to connect with me and right now, I am just trying to get to know myself better.

I have to agree with Leatherist about the pitfalls of lust that I have had some trainwrecks along the way!  I just don't want to be under the tracks anymore when these things happen [:'(].
