TurnnBurnLynx -> Corset matching help:( (8/10/2008 8:18:23 PM)

Ok, so i know its a little dumb, but i cannot find anything that matches my corset, and im not about to wear it mis matched.  i havent looked online a whole bunch, just because im weird shaped so i dont want to buy something to have it not fit.. and i know, im just being overly paranoid, but i want to do something special for the dom, and i need help deciding where to find clothes designed to be worn with corsets :(.   i know, sounds stupid, but i thought id ask those who know best

thanks
-jen

KyttynTheMynx -> RE: Corset matching help:( (8/10/2008 8:23:06 PM)

a nice skirt and some heels...some fitted dress pants...pair of jeans....nothing at all...lol

lighthearted -> RE: Corset matching help:( (8/10/2008 8:58:15 PM)

a denim skirt, a nice pair of slacks, sissypants.  I think corsets look supercute with them.

softpjOS -> RE: Corset matching help:( (8/12/2008 11:25:28 AM)

As i've discovered, just about anything can be matched with a corset.  Black jeans, skirts, lap pants.. lol

i had a skirt made with mine, but the skirt didn't fit so i had to go in search of something that 1) looked good with it and 2) i was comfortable with wearing.  2 being my biggest challenge.

Being thrifty, ok...cheap, and not wishing to spend a lot of money on something i'd rarely wear; i went to goodwill.  That's where i found the black skirt that i wear with mine.  Can try everything on, can even wear the corset under something if you want to see the corset with what you are trying on...

You'd be amazed at some of the articles of clothing i found in that store!  Everything from leather skirts/pants to skirts with braided sides.. guess even kinky people donate to charity [:D]

Good luck

pj

Do you mean match in color, match in style, match in level of formality...???  What does your corset look like?

I'm with CalifChick- we need more information to provide help of any kind. Describe the corset pls.

subsnow -> RE: Corset matching help:( (8/17/2008 1:41:32 PM)

I don't have a corset and never have but the suggestions that people have given sound good. Once I can finally afford a corset, I'm going to try wearing them with either a black skirt, jeans, or really short spandex black shorts paired with fishnet stockings.

msprudence -> RE: Corset matching help:( (8/17/2008 1:56:51 PM)

You mention "Once I can afford a corset".  I know places like Stormy Leather and Dark Garden have corsets which cost in the hundreds... but you can often find corsets on EBay for much less.  I just got one for $21, including shipping.

lynnlouise -> RE: Corset matching help:( (10/27/2008 11:38:39 PM)

Hi everyone:
Why are you wearing it?  Most of my lingerie on my website is for display - you probably wouldn't want to cover it - but you can decide.

RainydayNE -> RE: Corset matching help:( (10/28/2008 1:31:17 AM)

i think you can get away with wearing a corset with almost anything, not just stuff that's designed to be worn with them.
some of them look GREAT with jeans
i guess i agree with califchick -- need more info

LL, 12 out of the 13 posts you have made are to promote your website. I don't know if it's against tos, but it's definitely not in the spirit of the community. (in my opinion.)

I agree with you, but I am actually more offended by the quality of the products and the design of the website... Just because we're into BDSM doesn't mean we want to look cheap and tacky

xxblushesxx -> RE: Corset matching help:( (10/28/2008 1:17:41 PM)

Oh. See, I didn't even click on her link because it was so self-serving. (a little self-promotion goes a long way)

camille65 -> RE: Corset matching help:( (10/28/2008 1:26:07 PM)

I clicked and found it distasteful.

OP I struggled for over a year trying to match corsets to outfits, finally I realized that it can be treated just like any top. One of my fav looks is a black pencil skirt and pretty shoes. Casual, go with jeans. Tailored black pants and a corset give you an outfit you can wear just about any place. A blazer or jacket can cover you a bit if you feel shy but still showcase the beauty of a corset. Or a shawl works just as well for coverage that still reveals.

I tend to prefer over the bust corsets that also are a bit long, those seem to me to be easier to dress with. But I have a long torso so really it depends on body shape and what kind of look you are going for.

Try just browsing photographs that have corset wearers in them, see what they are wearing and decide if that look is right for you.

Hi - Well I guess I deserve getting stomped & obviously you didn't visit my site - NOT - cheap - and NOT tacky
but awesome is in the eye of the beholder, right?

self promotion? m-m-m-m-m      Who else will ring my bell?

camille65 -> RE: Corset matching help:( (10/29/2008 2:50:19 AM)

Actually I DID visit your site and stand by my impression. You give the impression that you are spamming here, you offer nothing of advice. Only a link to your site which more than once had nothing to do with what the OP was seeking.

Instead of making each post about your site perhaps you should try linking it in your signature?

travelgman -> RE: Corset matching help:( (10/29/2008 5:13:30 AM)

Just to throw in a male voice. Everyone has given you good suggestions. Personally I think a nice skirt would go well with a corset but the cool thing about a corset is that if it's doing it's job correctlly. People are going to be looking more at it than anything else you are likely to wear with it. You said you are wearing it for your Dom. So what kind of clothes does he like seeing you in. Match it with something he likes and your good to go I would say. Oh and one last thought. I know the good ones are expensive. But having actually been out with a friend recently while she was shopping for corsets. I would reccomend getting as good of one as you can if you think you are going to be wearing it very often and if you have an ample load for it to be containing:)

Obviously I did visit, since I do love leather and spent quite a bit on it, I was curious, well I have to agree with you on one thing, for what you offer it is not cheap, tacky is debatable, and my opinion, of course somebody else might have an other opinion, but the site is not customer friendly, hard to navigate, etc. You might want to change the design of the site because from a marketing point of view, most people are simply not prepared to go through the navigation hassle if other sites offer easier navigation, it is you who wants to sell...

There is actually also a sub forum for commercial things, I think putting a link there might be a better idea than trying to push it, especially since I couldn't find corsets

I'm sorry but i have to agree i just visited your site and found it aggrevating to use.  There are corsets there but they are jumbled in with the leather group.  You also talk about being for plus gals but only use slim girls for modeling.  That aggrevates me i like to see plus size models in the clothing too.  And the sparkles are tacky.  Take out the fairy or put her in the air.  Other than that it seems ok.  You do need to answer the post then add your site under your name.  Those that want to use it will and others won't be offended.

i also checked out your site.  i have to agree with the others.  its difficult to navigate, its hard to tell whats in each section, the design work of the page itself leaves alot to be desired.could use some work to make is look more classy and less like a porn site.
