ORIGINAL: katie978 Practice makes perfect. i'm going to gently disagree with you. sometimes, pain means STOP THIS RIGHT NOW. kitten Admittedly, I didn't think of that. I guess I assumed the OP had no medical issues that would prohibit kneeling... Just going by my own experience, with healthy legs, practice helped me out a lot. I started kneeling in martial arts (wood floor...owie). Sensei would have us kneel as long as we were comfortable, then switch to a different position. Of course, being eager to please and somewhat competative, I'd always go too far and then my legs would be asleep or bruised, but that's a different story. Sit on your knees while doing something else (like watching TV) and stay there as long as it's comfortable (or painful within limits). Then get up, stretch and shake out your legs, then go back to the cozy couch. Try again the next day.
