I'm not afraid of death - i am afraid of dying - slowly , excruciatingly, degrading, smelly, and painfully.

I would want to die by diabetes - an acute hypoglycaemic attack. People get groggy, and go to sleep. No-one i have talked to with diabetes has ever said it was painful, or anything other than uneventful. I don't want any of the other side effects - like peripheral neuropathy, blindness or bad circulation leading to limb loss, just the death.

i want to go by way of mental illness!  but not until i've shrunken down to a prunish 4'10 and i've got completely white, witchy- lookin hair.

Some of you are cheating  -- once again, ILLNESSES only.  Of course we all hope for the ~viola'~ style of dying...but c'mon..play fair.  No more cheap fixes like car crashes.

The epidemic post was intriguing.  So was the buried under a building, though it is not *quite* accurate to say one 'has already died' if one is still alive.  No one knows whether near-death experiences have any resemblance to the real deal.

As for me, the morphine haze doesn't sound too bad.  Again, assuming the lengthy decline is averted, spending my last moments higher than a kite holds some appeal.

Special kudos to stomped to death by an elephant while having sex, though it was cheating, since no illness is involved.

Carry on -- and please, find the humor in this.  Honestly, I wouldv'e expected kinksters to be more attracted to anything dark, including dark wit.

No one has chosen an exotic illness yet..lazy!

OP, you say you want to die quickly of cancer or an std?  i'm confused as to how either of those could take a person quickly.  maybe i'll die of confusion...if that doesnt' take me, maybe terminal laziness will.  [8|]

Extreme old age.

shivermetimbers -> RE: How Do You Wish to Die -- Illnesses Only (8/12/2008 8:00:31 PM)

I don't know how, but I already know when I'm going to die.  My birth certificate has an expiration date on it. (Thank you Steven Wright!!)

Honestly, an undetected bout of syphyllis contracted from having sex with 100 college cheerleaders. Well, they don't have to actually be cheerleaders, just wear the uniform.

Ok, ok fine. What about this one?

Jumping Frenchman of Maine Disorder

This is an extremely rare disorder first described by G. M Beard in 1878 and is believed to have been first observed in French Canadian Lumberjacks. Sufferers have a sudden and an abnormal reaction to stimuli. For example, when given a sudden command in a loud enough voice the individual will carry out that command instantly and without a thought, even if you tell them to hit out a loved one, or throw an object. Also, on hearing unfamiliar or foreign phrases they will often repeat them over and over again uncontrollably. Other symptoms include extreme jerky movements whenever a loud noise is heard, hence the “jumping” aspect to this disorder.

That way, someone could TELL me to drive a flaming oil tanker off a cliff and I could blow up in a amazing explosion, and still get away with it because I have a disease.

Yessssss!

And the prize for the most morbid thread goes to... *drum roll*...

death morbid...not if you look at from the perspective of coming full circle or completeing a life cycle. maybe death is so much a part of my life that if i saw it as morbid, i would not be able to drag myself out of bed each day to go help people in the dying process.
but kittinSol...i do get what you are saying.  most people don't want to talk about death...it is the unknown and has a hint of finality.

omg, life can never be complete.. it will never end, it will always carry on so stop with the cycle complete bullshit, cos one persons death helps another living thing survive.

but yea im gonna die in 2090 due to natural causes at the exact same time as my girlfriend also due to natural causes and im gonna be in her arms when i die

Sub4You4UKOnly -> RE: How Do You Wish to Die -- Illnesses Only (8/13/2008 2:27:17 PM)

oh and you can't say that natural causes isn't an illness because i didn't state what type of natural cause :) and illnesses are natural :P

I would think that dying by viola would be a tragic end to a beautiful instrument, and would hurt like hell.  Although dying by piano would most likely be even more painful.

Something that doesn't cost my family thousands of dollars in a hopeless struggle.

I think any form of the black plauge would be a pretty metal way to go.
