Status: offline 		Me, I don't much care as long as its abrupt and not preceded by a decline of any real significance.  Cancer, heart disease, even a std will do for me as long as this criteria is met. 
 
Nor do I care a whit what my corpse looks like after I'm dead.

Status: offline 		Hmm... if it had to be an illness... I kind of hope it'd take 8/10ths of the global population with me. I don't have any real problem with people, but there really are too many humans. Hopefully the illness is dreadfully contageous, and insanely lethal, killing in the first 48 hours...

Status: offline 		Something they diagnose reasonably early, that has a longish incubation period, then it gets ya.. quikly painlessly, and in a way that my organs are useful.

Status: offline 		No matter how you die it is not quick and painless.  Been there before.  Even if it only lasts a few seconds it seems like an eternity.
I remember when I was trapped under the building.  The things that went through my head.  Who I needed to say goodbye to...what at the bare minimum I had to do.  Making deals, one last time to see the mountains...etc.
Well that was an eternity.  Yet I know that eternity was only a few fleeting moments.

I imagine pain would be the same way if you were dying.  Those few moments to us mere mortals is going to be an eternity to the one hurting. 

For me, I got to come back.  I woke up in a hospital room.  Knowing there is no painless way to die or quick way.  No matter what your mind will work.  You will feel pain for a long time.  You will think about it a long time.
In the end it does not matter for me on how I die.  Even something as simple as a bullet to the head gets complex.

are you serious? the illnesses you suggested are never abrupt and they all would have a noted decline. i honestly  can not think of any illness that would fit your criteria of dying quickly except softness's thoughts on a severe asthma attack. the quickest death of anyone close to me was my friend Steve. he died skiing down hill 120 miles an hour and  having a run in with a pine tree. instant death.
i did describe a fantasy that i have surrounding my own death in a thread softness started titled "sick little bitches". still working out the details on that one, just in case i was ever given a terminal diagnosis. i really do not want to linger in a morphine haze for months. i'd much rather go being literally "fucked to death" in bleeding surrender.

A severe major depresion and a loaded gun could be a very quick way to die by illness.

Status: offline 		In a really dramatic explosion type car crash caused by me, taking a corner on Old Riverside road wayyyyyyyyyyyyy too fast! No one else involved. Just me in that one "oh shit!" moment. BUT..........not until I am at least 105.

I've got way too much to do for it to be any sooner.

death morbid...not if you look at from the perspective of coming full circle or completeing a life cycle. maybe death is so much a part of my life that if i saw it as morbid, i would not be able to drag myself out of bed each day to go help people in the dying process.
but kittinSol...i do get what you are saying.  most people don't want to talk about death...it is the unknown and has a hint of finality.
