Housesub, sure, I want to hear about Repubs too.
I'm an Independant voter and don't like Repubs or Dems.
The Dems conventions are just a lot more interesting to watch because of the nutball factor, they seem to attract people with,..."mental health issues" much more so than repubs.
Repubs are pretty boring, lots of people in suits and ties.

Well darlin, if you don't see a connection... I won't dare try to convince you there is one.  It isn't me preparing early.  I was just commenting on how they are expecting trouble and it fell in line with what others are seeing.  Now this is about as far as this lil dispute will go. lol  If you think I jacked a thread... stone me.

I don't know... wtf... but I am trying to get more info on it. lol  But I saw the warehouse and the fence and someone from both sides were talking about it.  It was on channel 4 news.

I'm still not getting what the Democratic convention which won't be held for another couple of weeks in a city a thousand miles away has to do with the Arkansas shooting today?

Well, damn it all anyways!  Are we going to need armed private security at all entrances plus the National Guard and the Secret Service and local state and city Police Departments?

I would be willing to handle security in Denver, if they supplied the ammo.

I AM JOKING!  I do not condone that type of violence.

I wonder if they'll have a "free speech area" like they did 4 years ago in Boston? A fenced-in area with a chain link fence around it with razor wire on top that the cops locked people into so that they could engage in,....."free speech." lol

Hey, that sounds oddly familiar.  Whenever Bush came to So Cal we used to go and hold up protest signs.  Well, we were kept down the block by the cops...far from anywhere he was going to be.  Told we could say anything we wanted just as long as the news or what have you didn't videotape us.  I do know for a fact we never made the local news..even though there would be upwards of a thousand of us with our signs.

Just to update the story, the chairman has died.  My wishes go out to his family and friends.

Frankly, considering the vitrol of this election season, I'm surprised it took the GOP gun nuts this long...

What kind of slogan will the GOP come up with after this? "Kill a Dem for Christ?"

Figured I would quote you on this one before you delete it.  Very interesting perspective, are you sure the gunman was a member of the GOP?

I don't think we know much about the personality of the killer; nor are his motives clear at this stage, so it's a little early to attribute this senseless murder to any particular group.

I will say this though: it isn't that long ago that some posters fondly invoked the memory of James Earl Ray when it came to Obama's campaign - as if him or the Democratic party had any violence directed at them coming to them.

Well, no, I don't know for certain... but tell you what, let's just say it was. You know, the same way Bushshit & Company connected Iraq and Al Queda before the war... (except, I'd have to KNOW it wasn't a republican who was the assailant... then I'd have to FAKE evidence to support my wild ass claims...)

Seriously, you make a good point. I made the assumption that someone who would cowardly open fire on a Democratic HQ, killing someone who was unarmed, would be a gun-totin' republican. I stand corrected until further info is released.

Using your theory, we could also attribute this to Gwatney being a super delegate, that was voting the wrong way...  You know just following the obvious Arkansas ties and all.

I can't believe you attempted to make this into a chance to bash based on political party.  For all we know this guy bought a car at one of Gwatney's car lots and was pissed off.

I can see how you got that.  I just heard there were shots fired and got caught up in the news story I was hearing at the same time.  I cannot see small print or light print and didn't know someone was shot until after my post when I was able to go and read the link, later after dealing with my adult son.  I would not be heartless over someone being shot had I known.  I just heard three stories connected at the same time and reacted, still I was wrong. You were right; I was wrong.

I knew you were.  But I still think you would like to do
"complimentary pat-downs" on women entering the building.

I am watching the news now.
Bill Gwatney who was the Arkansas Democratic Chariman,  was just an innocent victim.

Arkansas Democratic chairman killed in shooting - CNN.com

I hope they get much better security.

The guy was a freaking nutcase.  His political affiliation means nothing.

Yeah... just like the guy who walked into one of Hillary's campaign offices a couple months back with a bomb...  the political party they belonged to probably had nothing to do with them attacking a democratic party office... no, really!

I always felt you had no use for facts or truth, but at least your honest enough to admit it.

He was a 50 yr old EX target employee. He was an EX employee because he was caught spraypainting graffiti on the store walls. Something about hating Bush, maybe he was a friend of yours?
