I thought so also. It's been my experience that their public persona is, for the most part, the only attractive thing about them.

It's ashame that such swimming talent is wasted on winning medals instead of saving lives. Imagine what Phelps could accomplish as a Life Guard or Water Search and Rescue Specialist for the Coast Guard.

Definitely Angelina Jolie and Alan Rickman, who I felt played such a evil sheriff in Robin Hood but very yummy.  For me, Michael Phelps just seems to vanilla for me and young enough to be my son.

Amazing.  They slowed the tape to thousands of seconds to review, and watched the overhead cams above each lane.  You have to rely on mechnics to determine the winner in a race like that one.  He only won because he went over the top again with his stroke for the wall - if he'd not done that, he would have lost.

Can't wait for the 400 medley relay tonight - and for Dara Torres' 50 free final!

I'll be lusting for all those beautiful swimmers' bodies.

LOL!  Let's start a petition for 2012 ...

I *adore* that underwater camera that shows how their bodies move during the races .. long, lean, muscled, graceful - sigh ...  I think I woke up a wee bit needy this morning.  lol

Is Michael Phelps not simply amazing?
I watched the race last night where he won his 7th medal,

and he is nothing but AWESOME!

I live not that far from his family's home, and I would love to be able to

attend one of his live appearances when he returns back to the states.
Michael Phelps rocks!
I am very, very proud of him and that young man gives many Americans a
reason to have big smiles.
I am now on the Michael Phelps bandwagon!!

The Spitz/Phelps interview was incredible last night.  Spitz came across like something of a dick earlier in the week in an article I'd read, but last night he was so gracious and Phelps was so genuine ... I just loved the whole thing.  My kids swim competitively, so to see the sport we all spend so much time invested in, a resurgence like this means quite a lot.  My son is in high school and sometimes swim is looked down upon as not really a sport - 'cause, yk, it's not basketball or football.  lol  So this is all very cool indeed.

We're going to a party tonight with other swim parents to watch the final - should be a lot of fun.  I'm sure most of the moms will be ogling with me. . lol

Yes, Torres inspires lust in me , so did Janet Evans a couple years back.
