........ happily ever after? [sm=couple.gif] [sm=dance.gif] [sm=friends.gif] [sm=pillowfight.gif] [sm=sex.gif] [sm=spanking.gif] ................ just watching "Enchanted", which pokes fun at the typical Disney cartoon premise of 'happily ever after' and thought it might make for an interesting thread............ or a trainwreck. [sm=dunno.gif] [;)]

Right now I am "Hateing on" happily ever after... so um no... A stupid part of me wishes it could be true.. but the logical part of me says "sista please" I am just trying to keep it together.. and not be totaly meh about the whole dating/marriage thing. Gwyn

Yes...recently some girlfriends and i were discussing the "happily ever after" possibility(we were all having some pretty good stuff taking place around the same time) and i asked semi tongue- in -cheek, "What happens if we all got our happily ever after....what would we talk about?" i didn't want to turn into one of those people(Pollyannaslut, farting out rainbows and going on about how amazing He is all the time) i later realized, would it suck if we had a happy ending? Heck no! Somebody even told me i deserved one... Besides as long as they make ex-husbands...we'd have something to bitch about.... ~happy trollop...err...i mean happy tulip

i'm an eternal pessimist about most things, so no i don't think that they do. and i'm not really sure that i would want one if there were any, anyway. i think that it would get too close to perfection and perfection gets boring after awhile. i know that entertainment is not a good reason to seek out drama by any means, but at least then it's something other than the same thing all the time. besides happy ending (at least in these movies) = no tension = no fights = no make up sex...

meh. happy ever after implies that you've had the struggle to make it to the wedding, and everything after that is all taken care of. in reality, once the wedding (or other merging) has happened, is when all the hard stuff starts! and if you're not prepared for it, you're doomed. and if you don't have the mindset to work HARD ever after, you're doomed.

hugs Gwyn Tulip I think it would be great if we got our happily ever afters. [:)] Fluffy, I guess I don't see 'happily ever after' as being "Disney perfect", so I can't imagine that for me it would be boring. I think my parents have had a 'happily ever after' life together and it's been anything but perfect, or without heartaches, challenges, bumps and potholes in the road.

I'll believe in "happily ever after" when it happens. And even then I'll only know it's "forever" if and when it never ends. Only time can tell.

I am an eternal optimist and a hopeless romantic so I have to say yes, I do believe in happily ever after. And yes, I do know it requires work. If it came too easily it wouldn't be worth it. But that doesn't mean it doesn't exist. The best news is I feel I have found my happily ever after. Or rather the one that I want to spend that happily ever after with.

Once upon a time I used to believe in happily ever afters. I even thought I'd found it for a while, but that didn't work. Now the question isn't so much whether or not I yet believe, rather do I have the courage to try and find one? In the end life is what we make of it, as is our happiness or lack of.

Once upon a time i believed in happily ever after.now i know takes a lot of work and a few tears for fairy tales to come true. but they do.

I believe. Of course I also believe in fairies, elves and angels, so I am not sure if it counts.
