So, I bought a variety pack of micro brewed beer. One of them is called, " Old Cherry"

Skipping the visuals, I gotta say. cherry flavored beer is just Wrong!

I actually had some cherry beer when I was in England..chocolate, too.  I preferred the cherry.  There was a variety around Halloween that I liked (an AB product, I *think*) that had a spiced pumpkin flavor..as disgusting as it sounds it was YUMMY.

oh pumpkin not sure that would be good but most cherry flavored anything is yummy, except for cherry chocolate laxatives, those arent yummy

I tend to agree. Sounds to much like that Cherwine that some folks like. Also, it reminds me of that "Hard lemonade" you keep hearing about.Read about one guy who took his kid to a ball game and then got busted when he bought a bottle of it for his kid because he didn't know it was a wanabe beer[:o]

Jeffff, it pains me to have to disagree with you: it's quite obvious you've never had a Kriek Bellevue . Otherwise you wouldn't have made such an iconoclastic statement about cherry-beer :-).

PS: and now, I'm GAGGING for one and of course, this isn't Belgium, so there isn't one in sight. Thanks a ton [:D] .

i hate cherry flavored stuff, and "old cherry" does sound a bit gross if you think too hard about it.  one of my faves is an apricot  beer they make here at one of the breweries.

Sam Adams makes a cherry wheat beer that's pretty good.
I like Sweetwater Blue, which is an ale with a slight blueberry undertone. Wild Blue is heavy blueberry.
But tonight it's Rye Pale Ale from Terrapin, and Brother Thelonious(9.4%ABV)  and Old Stock Ale(11.7%), both from North Coast Brewing.

Although I haven't had cherry beer, I've had apricot beer and blueberry beer.  They're a bit different, but still refreshing on a hot day.

Or, I was already too buzzed to mind the difference in flavor.

I've never tried cherry flavored beer (not sure I ever would) but I've had apricot beer and it was fantastic.

Nah you know what would be a disturbing flavor? Pomegranite pineapple beer. I mean I love pomegranite, but it does the most bizzarre things when combined with other flavors.
