Hey everyone in PORS . The folks at OTD said to say hello.

I think it`s a great story, with a happy ending,hopefully.

The typical comments coming from the right, implying that there`s something weird, wrong ,negative or illegitimate about this,(example:Billy Carter or an illegit UM by McCain, in SEAsia, etc.) reflects their character flaws.Don`t mind it.

I wish the lad good luck. It`s like a Hollywood movie script, that I think has been done a few times.Only this one`s real.

Of course, Cindy McCain totally forgot she has a sister.

I'm not "worried" about your political affiliations, but I feel pretty safe in assuming that you're no Conservative.

At least be honest, I loathe flip flops, how very dull.  Yes, you must be worried, otherwise it wouldn't be such a big deal to you to keep repeating it.  Want to put your money where your mouth is?  I doubt you have the balls personally.  Just because someone is of a certain political stance, doesn't make them automatically blind to obvious word play or susceptible to media hype and boring soap drama.  If you like getting drawn into meaningless media drival, that's cool for you.  I prefer to look at where people stand on political issues, rather than what their estranged half brother living in another country is doing.  What has it got to do with Obamas campaign?  Or anyones?  It's a yawnfest sold by a glossy, to highlight their 'chariety' work and perpetuated with misrepresentation by a tabloid.  So, my question was - and?

You say - apparently- it's a 'human interest story' - meh - flipflop.

Personaly I did not think much of it until I read that Obama had met his brother and then left him in such a sorry state.  I see it as nothing to do with oh he is african or any such thing mearly that as human beings we have a responsiblity to our family and Obama could have very easely made a huge impact for the good on his brothers life. but he chose to leave him earning $1 a month. That is pathetic.  I mean how hard would it have been for obama to help him get into school ? one phone call. thats it but thats to much for him ?

That's a lot of drama over a story that you keep trying to claim is a non-story.

And the person I was calling a Liberal was Obama. Why you assumed it to be a reference to yourself, I don't know and frankly I don't care.

As for Obama, he rakes in four million dollars a year. His brother? Twelve dollars a year. According to the accounts I've seen Obama met him and didn't help him.

Whether ye protest too much or not, this is a hell of a human interest story.

what I wonder is why this lost half brother avoids his family and why he is living in the ghetto when his father was a government economist, which in a country like Kenya is kind of a big deal...no to mention half brother to a possible future US president what a waste of connections.

Yep, Random Stupidity is certainly the right category for this. Seems the right-wingnut noise machine has got the lot of you Obama-haters convinced that his sibling is living in a ghetto at a buck a day. This is a Goebbelsian BIG LIE.

"Unlike his grandmother in Kogela, in Western Kenya, George Obama had received little attention from the media.

But reports surfaced in the past few days, springing from an Italian Vanity Fair article saying George Obama is living in a shack and "earning less than a dollar a day."
The reports left him angry.
"I was brought up well. I live well even now," he said. "The magazines, they have exaggerated everything."
