KatyLied: Wow, Emperor, it amazes me that she can come back for money that he didn't make during the marriage and after the marriage was dissolved. Why would a court find this to be favorable? The theory is that his earning potential (we'll keep it in the traditional gender role language, although I know of cases where hubbies have gotten significant maintenance from wives who made much more dough during the marriage) anyway, HIS earning potential was enhanced during the marriage, even though he didn't realize the big bucks until after the divorce. This is more common where there was a long-standing "corporate" or "career" marriage (she put him thru med school, she worked the jr. exec. circuit with him to climb the ladder, etc.) And its "equitable" treatment...who the hell can define equity? I sure can't. E (NOTE: I am not a divorce lawyer. Yeccccch. Something I could never do.)

"When you wake up, Pooh," said Piglet, "what's the first thing you say?" "What's for breakfast? What do you say, Piglet?" "I say, I wonder what's going to happen exciting today?" Pooh nodded thoughtfully. "It's the same thing," he said.
