And so I hear tonight on the BBC news that America has sent a warship or two to help the people of Georgia. The warships will hang about off the Georgian coast, which will in turn provide some some comfort to the Georgians. So tell me, what exactly are a couple of warships going to do ? Perhaps it is, the US are now in position should the Ruskies try something else, but a couple of warships, surely they are dead meat if something should occur ? Is it that the US administration still feels they are a force to be reckoned with and everyone will back down in the face of US might ? Lets face it, US forces are deployed in both Iraq and Afghanistan, neither conflict seems winnable in the face of world media, people in the US are not happy with these wars overseas and the US lives that are being snuffed out. Yet your administration continues to breathe fire over any who challenge. Nato, a good idea when it was formed, but something I feel has grown out of proportion, since when did former Soviet states become part of the NORTH ATLANTIC, treaties organisation, they are not even in the same arena. So what is going on, the world seems to be headed for a financial recession, no one can afford yet another conflict, I understand there are countries that will take advantage of this and chance their arm, but why does it seem as though other NATO members may voice their oppinions, but it is always the US, often closely followed by the UK and some other European countries that actually place their countrymen in the face of danger ? Is Nato doomed ?
