I saw a Republican talking head, suggest that if they gave him the man's address he would send out a check for $1000 to help the man out...

However, using this man to score political points is beyond acceptable.

Cash might work better than a cheque.

Yeah, that one was below the belt.

Stupid too--Obama has the proverbial snowball's chance in Hell of winning Texas.  Why bother with something this crass when Obama himself offers up so many more tempting and substantial targets?

Wouldn't surprise me if a Rove-protege was behind the ad.

Would surprise me.  Rove was a lot more skilled than that.  He used a scalpel, not a club.

Well, remember the push-polling campaign against McCain in South Caroline?  Asking if voters knew that McCain had an illegitamit black child, among other things?

Bush told McCain it was just part of the game and laughed it off.

He was trying to complement the man.

Rove has his admirers as well as critics.

If they win, this is how the GOP will do it.

Anyone losing sleep over how Bush/Rove did McCain dirty,in 2000?

Simple answer...yes,I would have been proud to vote for McCain in 2000 a true American hero who seemed, at that time ,to trancend party politics.Thank's for pointing out what CL was doing there.....would have missed that if not for your scintilating appraisel of hs motives....

Despise his ethics if you will....but there is no denying either his skill or his efficacy.

You could say the same for nazi minister of propaganda, Joseph Goebbels. He knew how to spread the manure too.
