FangsNFeet, it just kinda makes you want to launch into that Disney "Circle of Life" song, doesn't it? In all probability, we'll be the ones to end our (mankind's) existence on Earth. We're too greedy, stupid, and violent. All evidence points to climate change taking place far faster and more dramatically than first estimates. Once that ball gets rolling, famine will be next, dieseases following, and (more) warfare over resources will take place. Nasty times are ahead, I'm sorry to say... but I don't think God, or the devil, will need to lift a finger. We'll do it to ourselves. This is why I bought a house outside of town, with it's own well, and a garden with fruit trees. I've been slowly stocking up on canned supplies and long duration rations. I've even bought a few guns, and learned how to use them. (As Heinlien said in one of his essays, "If you look at any geographical region, and you will very rarely see a period of longer than 75 years where some kind of disaster, natural or manmade, has taken place that made life difficult for months at a time.") Maybe this stuff will happen, maybe it won't... but as my Dad used to say "Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst."
