If you are making yourself miserable, it is over something that not only defies logic and common sense, but even scripture.

It takes some incredible 'it all depends on what you mean by 'means'...' semantic manipulation to support the notion that the Twue Xtians will leave the rest of the poor slobs behind any minute now.

And they've been pumping that sewage for centuries.

But the next time someone tells you about the'any-day-now'  imminent Rapture, point out to them that they can't go if they have worldly attachments, and ask them to prove their sincere faith by signing their house and car over to you now, before such documents become worthless.

This is correct.

As a matter of fact, I am an 'End of Times' and 'End of History' trustee and you can safely sign over all of your worldly possessions to me and I will see that they survive...for me.

Do you have any evidence of that in this thread, or are you making up untrue complaints just to hijack a useful discussion?
Did I say it happened in this thread. I was responding to another poster. If you have a problem with it, feel free to put me on ignore. I won't mind..really.

And I'll ask you the same question that C1 couldn't answer, where in your beliefs does it teach that it is OK to resort to such tactics?

What tactics are you refering to? Scaring people? Did I say it was ok to scare people.....didn't think so.

Playing the 'scary'card so soon?  [:D]

No, I was asking you a question...what tactics are your talking about?

How about people in positions of power and influence, hoping and praying for Armageddon?

Joe Lieberman was there,Tom DeLay,Hagee,etc...

I`ve seen Hagee say that Israel must be destroyed, before the 2nd coming can take place.

I think Delay is serious when he says he`d like to see the 2nd coming, himself.

When i was in approximately junior high school my Sunday school class watched this movie about  Armageddon.  The movie was so creepy and horrible i've never been able to get it very far out of my mind. It seems to me that in recent years there have been more and more focus on 'end of times' movies, books, conversations, news reports, etc. The part that did (and continues to) freak the hell out of me with regard to the Armageddon movie was the way one woman was talking on the phone to her friend and suddenly her friend wasn't there.
Here's the reality for me: i believe i'm inherently a good person, i don't commit crimes, i don't deliberately harm people, i feel guilt and remorse, and have tried to leave this world a little better off than it was when i entered it.  However that does nothing to dissuade my fear of  the 'end of times'.  Does anyone else struggle with these issues or am i going insane all alone?
kali

I actually did a smidgen of research on this....and the 3 people I spoke to all concluded uniformly....you're going insane all by yourself.

(I'm sorry...you did ask).
