I thought I would formally ask this. Right now, I have to get ready for work soon so I can't give my whole plan. However I am also interested in what others would do.

I can give a brief synopsis though. And maybe that is better so the post doesn't become 900 paragraphs. The thing is to remember just what the President can and cannot do. That may be difficult because things have changed.

1. I would cut foreign aid in half, to all countries that recieve it. That includes Israel and alot of congressmen and senators will fight agaist it, but I would then take it to the public. I would say "We are doling out $XXX billion dollars in foreign aid. We need to tighten our belts, the debt is getting too high". We would save alot of money and if public pressure didn't look like it was going to work, I would threaten to ban all foreign aid by executive order. Either take half or get nothing. The ratio of who gets what would remain the same.

2. As long as they are willing to accept only certain geographical locations in the US, any company that had moved offshore would be invited back tax free and with relaxed environmental regulation. Remember this is only in certain areas. There would be no corporate taxes, working people's taxes would of course be remitted and more working people stimulates the economy in the right way. A thousand dollar check means nothing, especially when it comes out of the taxpayers' pockets. No subsidies however. They will pay to build their factories.

There is hell of alot to this. I would probably put Ron Paul on the supreme court if given the chance, but only if there are enough opponents there to keep him still on the abortion issue. I would factor in their ages as well as his. We don't need anti abortionists on the supreme court in the majority. We have enough of a mess now. We must be realists.

What would YOU do ? Opinions are like ass holes, everybody has one. Everybody also has their own focus, and decides which issues are most important to them. I say that my main focus would be on the economy and getting back some jobs for the ex-middle class. Poverty causes a bunch of additional social ills which are not easily solved. That is why I would focus on it.

But then some others may percieve other evils as greater.

if (and it's a very BIG if) i were to ever have voted, it would have been for George Carlin since he was the only person that ever gave a no-nonsense view of America and knew what the people "really" wanted and needed. the rest of it (the other canditates and politics) are BS. it's the same crap every 4 years, the names have changed, but it's always the same. they make promises they can never, ever possibly deliver on. the reality of it is, the rich, the church and the corporate are the ones who "really" run this country.

Step 1 Executive policy saying any bill that crosses my desk without being a clean bill (all things on the bill are related to the purpose of the bill directly) will be vetoed, over ride it if you can get the support but that way the public will know who to blame.

Step 2 I can't force congress to not write omnibus bills but I can again veto them without bothering to examine them. because you can be sure not a single Congress person has likely read the entire bill either. Congress will have to actually get to work and write bills that are stand alone.

Step 3 again I'm gonna be called the VETO president cause I'm gonna wield that club like a caveman. Bills not funded at current levels of government revenue VETOed.

Step 4 Veto earmarks on any bill.

It's likely my most damning criticism of Bush's presidency that he acted like he was scared to veto anything until he was a lame duck.

Congress would have to band together tightly to get anything passed a veto and maybe that would force them to actually do their jobs.

Well, first off, I would make free speech actually Free Speech again. Plus I would allow website's like CM to post pictures of people in Bondage. Yes they turned down my new photos of some great rope work because of current laws.

Then I would take a long vacation and clear some brush, seems people like to see that.

1. have a complete federal finacial audit of the country done, and then post the results publically.

Post the performance records of federal and state congressmen on bar charts-showing their over all attendance, how many votes they missed-and the percentage of what they were voting for, and exactly who they were taking money and perks from, lobbyist wise.

You deserve to see if you voted for a slacker. Results to be updated weekly.

Make lobbyists post daily journals of who they were meeting, giving what to-and exclude them from dc if they failed to comply. Limit thier overall funding to $1,000 a day.

Overhaul the civil service -pay is related to job perfomance. Do a shitty job, and you make less.

No unfunded mandates, earmarks must be voted as seperate bills.

Take each and every Federal agency and see how much funding they disburse and what funding they take in. My impression is that in private industry, overhead adds maybe 20%-60% to costs. Since this is government, I'd allow up to 80% in overhead costs. But if it came to more than that, the agency head would be presented with the job of making the agency effective again.

Put the Iraq war on the books. Put ALL expenses on the books. Keep the bushel of goods used for the CPI constant.

Reinstitute workfare.

Fire the clowns heading up Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Begin fraud charges against them and against the finance gurus that misrepresented riskiness of RE vehicles and made out big time from fraud.

Bust up the oil companies under antitrust. Do the same to Microsoft.

Indict Bush and Cheney. What the hell, Rumsfeld too.
