LilBoyBlue1982 -> Realizing what I truly am... (8/28/2008 10:47:18 AM)

I recently realized that I am truly a straight submissive male, and it scares the hell out of me to think of the societal implications this will have in a predominantly male dominant world.

What implications? and why would you care as long as your happy? My sub is very male and in his day to day life nothing seems any different to him or Me. Of course we live our lives according to our own standards and not any one elses. Maybe you should try to do the same.

Well, before you get too freaked out, let me suggest that you carefully review the following statement...

...in a predominantly male dominant world...

Out of curiosity, where'd you get that?  I'm personally not aware of any studies which back that up.  Nor does the attendance at my local MAST meeting support the statement.  I've heard various anecdotal recountings which also refute the statement.  I know that that viewpoint is "intuitively obvious".  But "intuitively obvious" does not equate with "true".

Hey, and if it's any consolation, I'm not sure society looks on me any better.  For gods sake, I've enslaved my wife.  Or, more specifically, she obeys me and if she doesn't she is punished.  "Society" doesn't exactly look on that very kindly either.  Sure, there may be some wink wink nudge nudge in the locker room.  But in the privacy of their own heads, you know that a fair number of them are thinking "abuser".

Heh, the downside to being "alternative" is you have to be willing to be different.

A good enough reason to not go stand on the nearest mountain top and shout out your kinks to the world...[;)]

Do what you will in your private life and try to enjoy it. What society doesn't know won't hurt it...them... it... whichever...[:D]

Being submissive doesn't mean you have to let people walk all over you.  The only person you ever need to have above you is your dominant, if and when you find one.

I can think of many things that should scare the hell out of you other than living in what you call a predominantly male dominant world. There are mother's who's children are at Riley's Children's Hospital who are pacing the floor at this moment, wondering if their child is going to live to see their first birthday. There is a growing fear that the current President of the United States will not get out of office soon enough, before he screws us up so royally, there is no recovery. There are soldiers fighting for their lives each day, wondering if they will make it home to their loved ones before they are pulled out of a country they shouldn't be in to begin with.

You are scared to death to live in a predominantly male dominanated world. <Hands you a reality check> Pay at the door my friend. This should be the least of your problems. But, if there is any consolation, I could whip that ass til it lit up like a whorehouse light. But I would get much more satisfaction whipping my own subs ass, at least he is aware of social problems that exsists outside his own little painted world.

Ya wanna see something really scary?

Just sayin...

*hugs*  The societal implications of being a dominant woman are sometimes not fun either, darlin'.  But the company of the right person/people in your personal life really does make it all worth while, in the end.  I hope you find the friends and lovers who'll make you happy to be yourself.

Don't sweat it. Every married guy on the planet who is afraid to tell the wife he wants to play poker with the boys is going through the same thing.

My thoughts exactly.  You should only be submissive to the one that owns or dominates you NOT to everyone else you come in contact with.  You know your place with your Dominant.  Do not become a doormat.

ElanSubdued -> RE: Realizing what I truly am... (8/29/2008 2:43:28 AM)

Hmmm.  I know what you mean.  I'm a submissive too, but sometimes one must take chances.  Take the midnight train goin' anywhere.  Hey, you could be just a city boy, born and raised in South Detroit.  But instead, you are who you are.  Me, I prefer a singer in a smokey room and the smell of wine and cheap perfume.  For a smile though, I'll share the night.

Kinky folk.  Eh.  Bunch of strangers waiting up and down the boulevard, their shadows searching in the night.  We're all kindred streetlight people, living just to find emotion that's hiding somewhere in the night.

Keep working hard though, to get your fill.  Everybody wants a thrill, but it doesn't always come easy.  Don't go getting crazy, payin' anything to roll the dice, just one more time.

Some will win and some will lose.  Some were born to sing the blues.  I know you'll win though and I feel for ya.  Just remember, life goes on, and on, and on, and on.  And listen to that small-town girl.  She knows a thing or two, even if the kinky lass is busy kissing herself all the time.

Elan.

UglyTruth -> RE: Realizing what I truly am... (8/29/2008 2:58:47 AM)

If a Dom truly wanted to punish me He or She would make me listen to Journey.

OP, take it easy, man. Submission can be sublime, but not everyone wants it from you. Keep searching. You're in the right place to start.

Unless you're a doormat.  In which case it's ok to be a doormat.  'Cause, like, ya know, we have feelings too.

You know what.  It doesn't matter who you are or what you are.  Some ignorant fool, sometime, somewhere will try and put you down because of it.  It is inevitable.  I would be curious if anyone here considers themselves an exception to this rule.  I doubt it.

I wouldn't advise throwing caution to the wind and completely ignore what others think, but there again where's the prudence in letting other peoples' ill-considered and petty-minded world-views dictate how you live yor life.  Both extremes are foolish.  I think you need to find some balance between the two.

If you're not hurting other people, what have other people got to complain about?  Perhaps the problem lies with them?

You'll inevitably run into two kinds of people in life, those who'll put you down and those that will pick you up.  Better to avoid the former when you can.  I reckon there's plenty of the latter around here.
