I think the concern is that Bush will be seen as being anything other than presidential during a New Orleans hurricane. (Again.) Three years ago as Katrina hit, he and McCain were doing a little celebrating....

Oh, and also there's the fact that Bush's proximity would undermine McCain's attempts to distance himself.

Anyone who`s rescued a dog,worked a soup kitchen,volunteered at a hospital,coached a team,built w/ Habitat for Humanity,helped flood victims,joined a volunteer EMS/Fire Dept.,etc.,... knows the joy and fulfillment of altruism.
