Excuse me but I am not enrolled in the Prof. Thadius's class of ignoring links to pertinent information am I? Read the links Thadius, that is enough for me. He has my party's nomination, the GOP sucks, Bush is a fucking nightmare, and Obama will bring a modicum of world respect again to America hopefully.

So in summarization, he is not a fucking republican. The rest are in the links I provided. Read  them or not. Or his book. Any of them actually. Or not. Cuz you know you are voting for McCain so why pretend to wish to engage in discussion on it?

SO I will take that as his only qualification is that he is a man in the Dem party.  Good answer.

At least you are honest about it. I give you credit for that admission.  The links you provided don't stack up to half the shit out there, I have been reading stuff on the Kos about fake pregnancies and everything they want to post about the woman.

I have not decided to vote for McCain.  I am still really interested in Barr, I like his thoughts on cutting spending and taxes as well as a few other issues. Then again, if we don't recognize the one for what he is, we are ignorant or mud slinging.  I suppose I should start resorting to the same tactics as others around here, I will just spout some names throw in a few more fucks and change the subject when the question can't be answered in a way that favors the person I will be supporting.

This seems to be a recurring theme, those that are clearly voting,or leaning, Obama's way are constantly challenged to justify there vote.Aynne with your permission I will cut and paste your response in the future,a better answer I have not seen.

Okay, lets say for the sake of discussion that her experience doesn't qualify her for vp.

What experience does Obama have that qualifies him to be PRESIDENT?

Maybe the highlighting of the question will help me get an answer.

Lets try to get past the Dem vs Rep thing for a moment.  Simply an honest question seeking an honest answer.

For my part, I am not big hard-on about experience, I could give a fuck if they even served as ratcatcher. So I am not qualified to answer.  I know that ain't what you look for Thad.  But as for me, that's all I got.

Ron.

Links like this one?

From Votefromabroad.org.

John McCain fooled everyone and chose Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R-AK) as his running mate. People had talked about her but not many people took her seriously. She comes with an unusual mix of characteristics. First, she's a woman. Second, she's a woman. Third, she's a woman. McCain is betting the farm that the female Democratic PUMA voters who said they would vote for McCain will now really do it. The (unspoken) reasoning, of course, is either McCain is old and has had cancer four times and might die in office, leaving us with a woman President or in 2012 or 2016 she can run for the office on her own. It is likely that the working-class male supporters of Clinton, especially those in the rust belt will think she's a hot chick (she's a former beauty pageant runner-up and fond of motorcycling) but whether they will vote for her is something else again. She is a very devout Christian with five children, the youngest of whom has Down's syndrome.

Oddly enough, when I cut and pasted the link,  (   http://www.votefromabroad.org/  )   it went to a web wizard set up to allow overseas voters to cast absentee ballots... I didn't see your 'pertinent' listing of Palin and her children's traits...

Where exactly did it come from again?

Good segue Thadius. No where did I say that was his only qualification, nice try tho.
I realize that in all seriousness your being a follower of a male oriented and dominated philosophy makes it really hard for you to *not* patronize women, so I am getting used to it.  Kind of like me being a feminist liberal makes it really hard for me to take a Pentacostal anti-choice pageant contestant seriously either. No biggie, it's a big world out there for all of us.

Alumbrado,

It came from a post on this local webpage that has a forum I post on. It is about midway down on this page, it credits that link on the top. Read it, you'll see it. That is where again "exactly" it came from. Sorry I didn't have anything more subversive for ya, I will let the poster know the link was off, oh the horror.

I'd say no, Muse.  But then, I'd also say the last POTUS we elected who was ready to be CIC was Eisenhower.  Let's hope she finds good people to listen to if it ever comes to that.

Here is a thought, though.  Something that could be a problem in such circumstances.  She grew up, and has lived her life in a sparsely populated, remote corner of the nation, with a harsh climate.  The set of common values she would consider 'normal' is going to be a lot less diverse than the country as a whole.  Simple things, like a willingness to endure some sort of hardship without complaint, self-reliance, and an expectation of personal responsibility.  That's hardly the norm in the more populated parts of the country.  Put her in a room with a yuppie, or a third generation welfare victim, she's going to be short on exposure to such ways of thinking.

How well could she inspire and lead a civilian population she doesn't "get?"  How accurately would she judge the will of the people?

       Pobody's nerfect.

Hi all,

Not looking to pick a fight here---honest question.

Given all the rhetoric about being "ready" to lead and to command the armed forces----

Does anyone believe Sarah Palin is "ready" to be Commander in Chief?

And if so, please explain why. I would truly like to understand the reasoning.

Thank you.

Look...Palin's a babe...she and I went out for a Pacific Northwest Drink the other day.

That girl's informed.

She knows her ANWR from her (other than ANWR)....we interviewed.

I interviewed, then she interviewed, then I interviewed again....then she interv.....

So anyway.....

She knows all kind of Elk stuff....and then all that nature stuff....and then she said something about moss and plants and shit......

Anyway....she knows plants....and elk.....and stuff.....

A post on a forum mentioning yet again the Down's syndrome non-issue?  And you tried to pass that off as a 'pertinent' reference?

During our Civil War, we had small-time lawyers and academics who became generals, leading tens of thousands of men. Even in the Second World War, we had leaders who had never led anyone, and a highly decorated officers who had hardly attended school. We also had men that were highly prepared, who could only lead men to disaster.

You either have leadership qualities, or you don't. You have judgement, or you don't. You either react well to stress, or you don't.

Governor Palin and Senators Obama, McCain and Biden are all both well prepared, and ill-prepared to be leaders of our nation. The real question is, do they have what it takes to lead?

The down's syndrome was not pertinent, cherrypicking makes you look petty. What is pertinent is she is not qualifies, and apparently not honest.
oops..this is just creepy.

You were asked what made her any less qualified to be the Commander in Chief than Liberman, or the others... and instead of addressing that you made the choice to bring up these tabloid things, and bring them up, and bring them up...

'Oooppppsss' my ass...

Did I lose my mind here?

I can no longer judge whether this is being entertained as an issue or non-issue and don't see where anyone lays.

Kennedy had a downs syndrome sister.
Hubert Humphrey had a downs syndrome child.
Palin has a downs syndrome baby.

It is not uncommon. It is life.

Not even the bottom rung of a non-issue.

To whomever, cause I don't get it.

Tabloid? The enquirer and John Edwards you mean?

Screw that, she is fair game now, and if that story is true, well, teenage sex? lies? deception? what would a pentacostal pageant girl do? WWJD?

Amen.

Ron,

it has nothing to do with anything, for whatever reason Alumbrado does what he does, he pulled one line out of a story on Palin and contorted the fuck out of it. No idea why. Well, I do have an idea why, but that is irrelevant.  The topic was her incredible unqualifications to be the VP, not a sentence from an article about her life that mentioned her childs Down's Syndrome as merely a statement of fact.

Alumbrado, why do you do that? It is really unnecessary and it really detracts from things.

Anyway Ron, it is a big fat non issue to all but one here apparently.
