Born and raised in Bridgeport.  36th and Wallace, and 37th and Lowe.  The only time I ever had a desire to cross Madison was when the Stadium was still standing. [8|] So the flubby thing is completely out of the question, I don't root for minor league teams.

As for living there, how many precinct offices, or ward offices did you work in?  I probably still have a few versions of the various Honorables mailing lists, and donor lists, laying around on one of these pcs.  Know what I am sayin?

two year governor of alaska embroiled in a scandal? Flip flopped on the bridge to nowhere?  Former pageant girl? Wow, she is practically a political savant.[8|]  Alaska?!

I going to go out on a limb and guess you missed the laundry lists of the myriad ways Palin has more experience than Obama, and more relevant experience than Obama.

No, I don't think you can look at it that way.  How many times, even in recent history, has the back-seat candidate had to assume the lead role?

A quick google search turned up this information regarding the history of our country:

We have had 43 Presidents - 9* have died while in office which equates to a slightly over 1 in 5 chance the VP will have to fill the slot. (That does not include any temporary change of power which may be required. Regan did not sign the paperwork to technically put George #1 into temporary power, but is still part of the job description of the VP and should be considered.)

*4 assassinations
2 deaths which may or may not have been assassinations
3 deaths from other causes

In addition, there have been 16 assassination attempts on 12 different Presidents.

edited to add: The President has just about a 1 in 2 chance of someone, somewhere trying to put a cap in their ass.

I just heard, but haven`t confirmed, that there were no McCinites or RNC officials on the ground in Alaska and that she was vetted from a far,by phone........

This would explain a lot.

If true(and we`ll know soon)you couldn`t write a better comedy routine if you tried.

This is so not smart.[image]http://www.collarchat.com/micons/m18.gif[/image]

I also heard a talking head make a throw away comment, that Palin wouldn`t survive to the end of the convention.

He got laughed at and ridiculed over it by the host.I can`t even remember who it was.

Now,I`m think`n the guys a fuck`n genius.

We shall see.

Does anyone think that they should not get a job because their unmarried daughter is having a baby? Is
that supposed to be a negative reflection on the parent, or a "mistake" by a youngster who is in love with
her beau and doesn't take care. But for the grace of God, and a good condom, goes many of us!

This country suffered through a President getting blow jobs in the oval office and re-elected the guy.
Amazing that the firewall in my company would not allow me to download the "Congressional Record" of
those steamy hearings. I think this attack on Palin's child will backfire on the liberal media and, if anything,
makes her family even more representative of what is going on in all of our families these days. Does anyone
in any family not know a brother, cousin, nephew, niece that is living with their lover?

And the young lady is going to "marry the father of the child"...so rare these days it seems to me. We should
all be wishing them the luck and success they are going to need in their "instant adulthood"....rather than casting stones.

I think this is more about IRONY. Social conservatives being such boosters of pre-marital teen sex, gay bashing, and all that.....

This is just a MASSIVE EMBARRASSMENT. What happened to the Christian values? How can she lead a nation when she can't even control her own children?

Its a can of worms..... Just imagine if Karl Rove were a democrat and Rush Limbaugh & Co. were liberals on the airwaves ---- these wonks would never let this go.........

As always, it's up to the Dems to take the high road. Obama's said he wants private family matters to remain that way.... that way, the republicans seem far more sleezy and nasty when they try to call his kids ugly whores.... (and you KNOW it's coming.. they did it with Chelsea Clinton)

Thanks for proving the point that some folks are willing to stoop to any level for a cheap shot.

Damn, it's a sorry day when I have to quote James Dobson:

Being a Christian does not mean you're perfect. Nor does it mean your children are perfect.
