DarkSteven -> The Daily Kos article on Sarah Palin. (8/31/2008 9:02:12 PM)

The claim is that the fifth child that Palin claims as her own, is actually her grandson, son of her 16 year old daughter.  I gotta admit, it looks pretty convincing but I'd like to see it confirmed by more mainstream media.

Convincing though it is, McCain's people must have vetted her pretty closely.

Dunno what the fallout will be if it's shown to be true.

Eh.  I think it's probably untrue.

Of course, I think it looks worse if it is untrue.  She waited 8 hours to give birth at great risk to her child so she could fly to Alaska from Texas?  Really?  That's just weird.

I don't know any woman who would do that.

My son called me about this hours ago,I figured if there was truth to it,sooner or later it would show up here.Politics aside I am not willing to speculate on this...it is beneath all of us.Though given her social conservative views it is inevitable that if there is meat on this bone the media will gnaw it off.
Funny thing is ,if true I have loads more respect for her and the love shown for her daughter in this action...

Yeah, as if she wasn't enough of a wild card, the fallout from the kid (IF true) will be unpredictable.

slvemike4u -> RE: The Daily Kos article on Sarah Palin. (8/31/2008 9:33:05 PM)

True...how people react to this (if true)will depend of the values they bring to the table. As a parent she will have my respect, but her public  hypocrisy will be noted.

Bedfellows make for strange politics.

TheHeretic -> RE: The Daily Kos article on Sarah Palin. (8/31/2008 9:48:10 PM)

And Daily Kos gets to dictate the appropriate moral and ethical choices to her and her family because...?

The silver lining is that the Obama campaign just might have the decency to completely denounce this attack.  They might want to do that very quickly.

farglebargle -> RE: The Daily Kos article on Sarah Palin. (8/31/2008 10:04:23 PM)

I'm glad this FINALLY got discussed.

LYING is bad.

If someone LIES about something like this, how can they be trusted about ANYTHING?

That aside, she believes the earth is less than 10,000 years old.

She isn't qualified for a seat on a SCHOOL BOARD!

She makes Dan Quayle look like a genius.

slvemike4u -> RE: The Daily Kos article on Sarah Palin. (8/31/2008 10:08:25 PM)

Well Heretic once again we disagree, while I find this distasteful, and on some levels if true admirable, her public social consevative positions on a number of issues makes this fair game....sorry but when one makes moral judgements about how others should conduct their lives one opens these doors.

TheHeretic -> RE: The Daily Kos article on Sarah Palin. (8/31/2008 10:15:56 PM)

I'm surprised you aren't putting on your shining armor to ride to the rescue of the damsel in distress, Mike...

Please, enlighten us as to Governor Palin's "hypocrisy" should this bit of trash prove true.  I really have no idea what value she claims as her own is betrayed by such a decision.

NumberSix -> RE: The Daily Kos article on Sarah Palin. (8/31/2008 10:16:49 PM)

'unintended consequences' as it were.

Aint much of a silver lining rich, a denouncement won't change your vote.

LOL.

Nope.  Not after he pussied out on the opportunity at the convention.  It might help a bit if he comes back with some kind of record under his belt in '12, '16 or '20 though.

slvemike4u -> RE: The Daily Kos article on Sarah Palin. (8/31/2008 10:22:41 PM)

Well I don't know ,but off the top of my head ...teenage pregnacy, premarital sex, covering it up and commiting what amounts to fraud about the parentage of the child...all these things dovetail with a social conservative platform Heretic..feel free to take your time before you answer...please remember my original stance was this is too low to speculate on,and I am sorry I violated that thought, but you did ask....

TheHeretic -> RE: The Daily Kos article on Sarah Palin. (8/31/2008 10:44:46 PM)

Ahh.  I see.  It violates a sweeping, stereotypical set of values you find it convenient to assign her.  I see a woman who says she is committed to 'life' walking the walk.  This is the WWJD solution.

Elisabella -> RE: The Daily Kos article on Sarah Palin. (8/31/2008 10:51:27 PM)

IF this is true, the thing that bugs me most is how the article says that Palin forced her daughter into a cover-up.

I'm sorry, but if I got preggo at 16 and my mom said "don't worry honey, I'll raise the kid as one of my own" I would be on my knees thanking God for a second chance at my life instead of having to get a GED and postpone college for 18 years.

Especially since pro-choicers would have encouraged the 16 year old to get an abortion to fix it.

Either way, the left loses on this one.  If it's true, Palin is an exemplary mother who walks the pro-life walk.  If it's not true, they just look petty. The real shame is that I doubt Obama is the one who is behind the rumors, but the backlash will fall on him if they're not true.

slvemike4u -> RE: The Daily Kos article on Sarah Palin. (8/31/2008 10:51:48 PM)

No Heretic Jesus would see to his own house with out passing judgement on others...

You rock.

DomKen -> RE: The Daily Kos article on Sarah Palin. (8/31/2008 10:54:45 PM)

If this is true there is of course a little matter of her violation of one of the ten commandments. Which I normally wouldn't care about, I personally have no problem with people lying to outsiders about their personal affairs, but it is hypocritical for an evangelical who believes in god to violate the ten commandments.
