You must not have had 13 years of Catholic schools. *chuckles* You're about my age, and they were still teaching the concept that "pure" women chose to give themselves to God in Catholic schools when I was in school (not that I listened -- I got forcibly evicted from senior-year religion for stating that Mary could not have been a virgin, in the technical sense. after having given birth -- and therefore could not have been taken to Heaven as a physical virgin)... that being married and bearing progeny for one's husband was an acceptable option, and that God would forgive a woman who chose marriage over the convent... but that only a woman who entered a convent and 'married' God could be truly considered 'pure' at the Judgment.
