She's stepped on enough toes in both parties that the legislature might not be exactly trustworthy in their "investigation."

Is it a maneuver?  Certainly.  Is she looking for a favorable outcome?  Most likely

I seriously doubt that McCain thinks like that. He probably just wanted to try and get the Republican base on board, get some of the Hillary vote, and maybe please his beautiful younger wife...

It seemed to me that the Left's overreaction really surprised him. After all, he is friendly with many Democratic Senators, he's been popular among left-leaning voters, and he has been for a very long time. This vitriol is a fairly new phenomena, at least this level of vitriol.

I think McCain is the genuine article - a little bit naive, really surprised by all the hatred.

I think you are seeing vitriol and hatred where it doesn't exist.  I'm one of those Democrats you mentioned that McCain has been popular with, though his betrayal of his own principles in this campaign has caused me to lose a lot of respect for him.

What did you think was going to happen when he chose such a questionable running mate?  I think the reaction of the "left" has been remarkably restrained.  If this were a Democratic candidate Rush, O'Reilly, Rove, and everyone on Fox would be eating her alive.

The only overreaction I've seen is by  people claiming any criticism of her is hatred because they know she is a poor choice but are grasping at straws to avoid admitting that.

yes and liberals are  also just a political machine.  They'll say anything and do anything, to get elected.  It's all a game for them, so they can get power and pad their pockets.

Damn right....tell her to get her sorry ass back in the kitchen and take care of her man.

What kind of women has the nerve to think they can possibly hold down a job and take care of a family?

What is happening to our country?

I wonder what would have happened if Joe patted her bottom as she left the podium?

Can you prove that the Senator intentionally plagiarized the work of another?
