Considering that the Rimba brand tens unit is advertised as a 'hands free ejaculation' device... I am hoping that bodily fluids will not cause problems with it.  (Pardon while I try to say this as delicately as possible.)  My best boy and I just discovered that when the penis straps are covered in semen and moved around, the fluids cause the electrical current to 'jump' between the electrodes.  I am hoping this will not damage either the unit or my boy.

"Jump" as in seeing it spark, or just him feeling the current moving along a different path?

Keeping in mind that the circuit will still have the resistance of the wires, electrodes, and... liquid... it's not a dead short. The machine *should* be robust enough to handle it for reasonably brief periods; I know I've had the sticky pads come loose and contact one another with other inexpensive TENS devices with no ill effects.

Thanks, Onemore.  We didn't actually see the spark jump (we were busy), but my boy could feel it and begged me to turn it off.  He's never done that.  Considering the fact that we are both very new to electrical play, we are both a touch ignorant about 'care and feeding' of the unit.

In such times of need, I have found that Irishm57 is an amazing 'go to guy' on this subject.  He has been a touch busy for the boards lately, but I sent him a private Cmail and got this response.  As it is not personal and may be useful to others, I'll C&P it here and ask for forgiveness later... maybe.

quote:

Shorting the outputs(directly) of any tens unit will eventually damage the unit. Even though they do design them to take some shorts, the direct short will damage it depending on how high the output control is set. When it shorts, the current flow is max, so it tends to heat up the output transistors.

If it was only the fluids making the short (not the 2 metal parts touching), that shouldn't be a problem since there is enough resistance in fluids to keep the current flow under control.

The general opinion seems to be 'just don't do that to much'.  Considering that my boy didn't enjoy that sensation, especially in that super sensitive moment after a climax, I don't think we will be using it much under these conditions.  I just want to make sure we don't break our favorite toy as I think my boy is becoming addicted to it... and I do love to watch his eyes pop and hear the screams.  So very hot.

Yup, seems like we're more or less in agreement on that.

Running electricity across a wet cock head is usually a good way to get screams Especially one of those electric fly swatters, holy crap. If you're using metal contacts, then the moisture is going to make a big difference in how strongly he feels the current- it may not actually be a short so much as an intensification of how he feels it.

BTW, I wonder if I'm the only one who saw the threat title and saw "Roomba" instead of "Rimba" at first. I have to admit that my mind boggled a bit!

LOL!  No.... we haven't tried using the automated vacuum cleaner yet.  It may just be the more intense shock that he doesn't like.  For those who don't know, the Rimba has 6 or 8 different 'settings' that have different sensations.  I'm not exactly sure how it changes the electrical flow, but it does.  I've used the sticky pads on myself and really enjoyed some of the settings over others.  But shocks to the genitals and shocks to sore leg muscles are totally different!  My boy can take very high settings on the 1st 'style' - whever it was called - and beg for more.  But if I switch it over to 'massage' - he whimpers to change it back to the one he likes.

hmm that gives me a warped idea,, get a Roomba, attach a Rimba tens unit to the top with 2 electrodes sticking straight out the front attached to the roomba. Stake the sub out to the living room floor ,, nekid and wide spread eagle no less. then turn the roomba on to vacuum the floor. Sit back and enjoy

*giggle*  I have a friend with one of those.  The bad part is that you can't control where it goes.  When we were doing photos at his house, there was cat hair on the carpet at my feet.  The photographer was going nuts over it.  The Roomba was the only vacuum in the house and no one can make it STAY in one place and just do the part you want done.  I guess you could just pick it up and turn it back toward the sub if you got bored.  But then, anticipation of when it will circle back around would be half the fun.
