when i first heard this saying from my ex mother in law i thought it was horrid...she laughed about saying it to him when he was an unruly teen. after being married to her son for 14 years i started to understand it and it still makes me laugh when i think of it.

"if you don't shape up, i'm going to rip your arm off and beat you to death with the bloody stump!"
