He brushed ordinary disgruntled Americans off and called them: "Static and Noise"...

This was an impromptu statement.... and those impromptu statements reveal the true person which is: OUT OF TOUCH AND UNSYMPATHETIC WITH THE CONCERNS OF ORDINARY AMERICANS.

Just wait until that static and noise kicks him off his high horse.

I will have a party, you are all invited.

Code Pink is "static and noise." What did you want them to do? Allow her to mouth off obscenities and obnoxious comments? It was not the proper time for that.

"I hated the gooks. I will hate them as long as I live." (March 2000)

Granted, I'm sure he's talking about the Vietnamese who tortured him, but shouldn't he have enough sense to specifically say "I hate my captors" instead of saying "I hate Asians" in a derogatory fashion? Just my opinion that this proves he's further less sentimental/sensitive to Asian Americans who were born and grew up in the United States for several generations.

Why do people need to be "sensitive?"
What the hell is that all about?
We're not all "Alan Aldas."

Notice the Man grabbing her? didn't see him up in the balcony grabbing that tattooed, muscular looking Vet with the sign did you? They showed him a couple of times but then not again. I thought the lady looked about half crazy

Sanity -> RE: According to McCain... (9/5/2008 3:24:16 AM)

The static and noise he was referring to last night was from the goons who were trying to deny John McCain and the Republicans their right to free speech and their right to assemble

There were goons outside the convention assaulting the delegates, goons inside trying to shout down the speaker...

"Ordinary Americans" respect other people's rights. Shouting down political speech that you don't agree with is tyrannical.

Boo hoo, big deal, they can deal with it, after the Patriot's Act. It disrupted the speech, but there wasn't much to disrupt anyway.

Sanity -> RE: According to McCain... (9/5/2008 6:11:09 AM)

Plenty of Democrats voted for the Patriot Act, so should they lose their right to free speech as well, or is this just a one way street you're paving here.

Really?  How many Republican protesters interrupted speeches at the Democratic National Convention?

Here's your answer...none.

It's all about respect.  If they wish to be heard, do you think rushing into the hall to divert attention from the business at hand is the way to do it?

Honestly, in a lifestyle that TOUTS respect, this girl would have thought that would have been an obvious point.  There is a time, and a place and a way to air one's grievances for things that displease them.

That was not the way.

Did he rush the hall, or was he holding his sign in protest, maintaining still an iota of respect for the candidate at the podium?

she came flying down the steps, and made herself the focal point.. robbing from the delegates the chance to hear THEIR candidate give his speech.... much the way Barack Obama was afforded 7 days prior.

There is no excuse for blatant lawlessness.  Grievances cannot be aired on only one set of terms.

Again, this is all surprising, coming from a board in a lifestyle that has mutual RESPECT as it's main focal point.

kittinSol -> RE: According to McCain... (9/5/2008 6:21:25 AM)

Code Pink belongs to the Democratic party?

Bethnai -> RE: According to McCain... (9/5/2008 6:23:30 AM)

And then they played Barracuda, even though Heart asked them not to. They did it anyway and then Nancy issued a statement stating that in no way shape or form does that song represent their vision of the American woman.

Typical lack of respect and your behind the idiots backing them all the way.....why am I not surprised.

You wouldn't answer earlier when I asked if you agreed with their actions. To me, the answer to that seems clear.

Code Pink is an anti-war group, and most of their members are members of the Democratic party, so yes... for the most part they are.

But aren't the protestors protesting White House policies? That might be the difference.

How petty of Heart. "You can't play our CD at your little party".

Pffft. Fuck them.

Is John McCain President?

How is interrupting his bid for the speech protesting White House Policies?

Go stand on the sidewalk outside of the White House.

Look, all week anti-war, anti-Bush protestors have attacked delegates, started fires, smashed windows, and just acted plain ridiculous.

Republicans gave the Democrats ENOUGH respect to keep away from the speeches, and do what little protesting they did outside in a manner that the Denver Police never had to bat an eyelash.

There is no excuse for lawlessness.  It matters not what you're protesting.

Sanity -> RE: According to McCain... (9/5/2008 6:31:24 AM)

Democrats push for public transportation on one hand, then assault eighty year old delegates who use it on the other, if their politics don't suit them. In a polite society a gentleman is afforded his right to free speech, and to do otherwise is neanderthal behavior. The Democrat's behavior here is brutish and thuggish. Childish to the extreme.
