Thadius -> RE: According to McCain... (9/5/2008 7:56:37 AM)

Have they physically attacked folks at those Pelosi gatherings, or were they just calling sweet Nancy on her broken promises to them?[8|]

These hoodlums are fucking brownshirts, as far as I'm concerned. If they're not Democrats, then what are they.

There are some 'apolitical' organisations who don't belong to any given political party (not sure if Pinkthingy is, I'd never heard of them until today) - as for calling them 'brownshirts'... it's a little bit much, and it makes your indignation seem pretty trivial, especially in the grand scheme of History.

kittinSol -> RE: According to McCain... (9/5/2008 8:00:41 AM)

Thadius - you haven't yet been appointed arbiter in this particular dispute, but I appreciate your concern.

Last I heard there have been about 130 felony arrests so far.

These hoodlums are fucking brownshirts, as far as I'm concerned. If they're not Democrats, then what are they. Why are they attacking Republicans... trying to intimidate people who are peacefully gathering basically to talk.Intimidate cities that might otherwise be willing to host political conventions.

It's outrageous behavior, Google it if you want all the facts.

Maybe they are not party political but see violence as the only way to communicate with a party that believes in violence as a solution by starting an illegal war. It was clear before Iraq, the Iraq war wasn't necessary but the Republican administration wanted a war.

As I pointed out in a previous thread, sometimes the only way to communicate with politicians that believe war is a way to spread civilized values is to become civilized and violent towards those who believe in violence as a solution.

I find it incredible you can call these protestors hoodlums but support a party that is run by hoodlums that have so much blood on their hands.

Neither have you.  Yet you seem to want to call everybody on the same activities that you delight in taking part in.

Simple as that.  As soon as you get your Mod badge, you can start telling folks to run along.

SilverMark -> RE: According to McCain... (9/5/2008 8:12:18 AM)

I can't find anything on the Pink people physically attacking anyone, they seem to be for the most part, middle age women. If they do attack however, I think you could take them Thadius! But watch out for the redhead in the photo posted on their sight...I hear she has a mean left hook!

Thadius -> RE: According to McCain... (9/5/2008 8:18:29 AM)

I noticed that.  I was hoping to see some tazer action, but was alas, primetime tv is loosing its appeal. [8D]

kittinSol -> RE: According to McCain... (9/5/2008 8:24:16 AM)

Thadius, I'm not sure why you keep on taking this further - I hope you're not trying to inflame things. Certainly, they don't need it. And that's the end of the matter for me.

Sanity -> RE: According to McCain... (9/5/2008 8:51:18 AM)

Violence for peace then...

That's really some message. You had ought to win some kind of an award for that one!  [sm=champ.gif]

Do you advocate violence as the preferred method for solving all political disputes, or just this one.

Sanity, 'violence for peace' is the spurious motive invoked to justify the invasion and the subsequent conflict in Iraq, neither of which were necessary - violence is never to be condoned, but this is true of both governments and individuals. Yet, I haven't heard you condemn military violence, even though it is far more destructive than anything these Pink people have done.

I'm just pointing out that the Republican party believe in the use of violence for spreading civilized values so how can a Republican complain when other people do the same.

Sanity -> RE: According to McCain... (9/5/2008 10:25:06 AM)

First of all, nearly every DEMOCRAT voted to authorize the use of force in Iraq as well, so using Iraq as an excuse to beat up and harass peaceful Republican delegates exclusively is preposterous.

Second, those who were in favor of freeing Iraq aren't the ones claiming that violence is bad. You are... while at the same time apparently advocating violence.

Do you see the difference yet?

Further, you bring a message of peace that really means shut the hell up, you have no right to speak. Who said such a thing to the Iraqis? no one did. We gave the Iraqi people the opportunity to access a political solution to their problems, something that you seem inclined to deny those whose politics aren't just like yours.

First we reached for a political solution in Iraq, through the United Nations and diplomacy.

The violent protesters in St. Paul are undermining the political process completely.

They're fascists, pure and simple.

Right. I have held back from calling quite a few people that, who in my opinion, deserved it far more than Code Pink or whatever their name is.

Sanity -> RE: According to McCain... (9/5/2008 10:57:30 AM)

It took me a while to think of a term that was that nice. And the discussion doesn't just involve Code Pink, it includes the thugs who were assaulting and spraying bleach on elderly delegates and trashing downtown St. Paul, and so on.

Call then whatever pleases you, but they are what they are.

I mis spoke....I attributed a reply to cloudboy when it was meant for Sanity....
My most sincere apologies cloud, I hope no offense was taken.
Not in reply to anyone no matter what the board says!

I laid down my eight dollars for their CD, therefore I can play the damn thing.

They should never have sold it if they want to limit who can or who can't listen to it. This whole discussion is just ridiculous!

That's a simple matter of copyright law; you pay and/or you get permission.  Law and order, yes?  Like incorporating someone else's words in your speech or writings, you pay and/or get permission.

Yeah I remember something about that... aren't both candidates on the Dem ticket accused of doing that?  Obama has "permission", but isn't that what made Biden run and hide a few years back?
