As much as I LOVE the political discussion on this part of the forum, I'm getting this real headache about a lot of it lately. Just the constant diet of it on the OTD is making me get really fatiuged....

What does everyone say to this minor suggestion?

For every political thread started, the OP of that thread also posts one that is BDSM related? Just so we can have our veggies, along with the meat, and keep our diet balanced?

What about those out there that don't participate in BDSM?

Just another thought, silly one at best...........

If something is making me feel ill and I have the choice to ignore it.......I do.

As far as I know, no one is forcing anyone here to read or participate.

Then what are they doing here on Collar Me? ("The Largest BDSM Community on the Planet") LOL Sure, sure.... they can post on anything... I'm just thinking it would be nice if there was a little more variety in topics in the OTD section again.

I wouldn't mind seeing other topics here as well, but let's face it; things are going to get much more political between now and Nov.  Up until now, it has been just us political junkies that have been involved, as the rest of the electorate wakes up around here, I expect to see this section flooded.... for better or worse, it is going to happen.

The "Off Topics" section is the rubbish bin and loony bin of collarchat, polarber. I'm afraid the specialised fora is where it's at, if you want to avoid politics. (Although even there, politics rules - see Gor, for example, but the subject matters are rarely 'party political'.)

I am just excited that I got my absentee balot paperwork yesterday. If nothing else, regardless of who anyone is voting for, I love that there are a record number of new voters.

I think it is exciting to see people getting more interested in how their country is being run and wanting to have a voice in it. There has not been another election that I can remember the passion and excitement. More young people are getting involved. It is cool to give a damn now. It used to be only a geek thing. I honestly think that Obama should get credit for that, regardless of who wins.

If you want more variety, then start more threads. If you see something you are tired of reading about, don't go there. There are multiple forums on BDSM so I am not sure why someone would want more, but if thats the case, you can always start more.

edited to say, this was a fast response to the op

heh...I was thinking last night that if we ever got around to have a real Collar Me meet and beat that there would be several floors and banquet rooms of the hotel filled with the sweet sounds of screaming pain and orgiastic sex.  Inevitably though, some of the regulars in this particular forum would be in one room arguing politics throughout the whole event, rather than getting their groove on.

The well thought out part of the contributors I enjoy, the ones that slide in with the pot shots....Not so much...I have read more B.S. after these conventions than before although then I would read then not contribute much but, it will get busier and there will be so many more mis-statements and made up reports etc etc INTERNET rumors. I read the other day the Inquirer has 4 reporters on the ground in Alaska, watch out Palin fans!...lol...They'll have her making love to polar bears and chasing the Deadliest Catch guys naked on-board their ships! God, I LOVE POLITICS!!!!!!!

Although, who knows what meeting face to face can do to the libido? Perhaps it'll make the frigid politics nuts melt into wanton puddles of goo  .

Actually, I would not be in a seperate room... I think it would be far more fun, to enjoy the sexual energy while having certain members bent over begging for more, and reading the talking points of the party they don't agree with.... but hell what do I know.

bipo, this is an election year, we will just have to ride it out.

I fully agree with you, and I used to enjoy the variety of topics introduced here, but I think this is just something we will have to put up with for now.

I think by March things will be close to being back to normal, except for some noticing that the TV in their kitchen no longer works.

Lol...I am sure there would be a Gorean room and floor at the hotel too for all those wishing to discuss the philosophy and be served by naked kajirea.
